All things cooking, cleaning, chilling and more for the hard-working heart of your home.

In the autumn and winter months, slow cookers really come into their own. Add your ingredients in the morning, set the cooking time, head off to work, and come home to tender cuts of meat, rich curries or hearty, ready to serve stews.
Many of today’s popular models do more than just slow cook too, with some allowing you to sear or sauté in the same cooking pot before switching to a slow cooker function. Others double as rice cookers, steamers, pressure cookers, or even offer sous vide capabilities. Compared with running full-sized ovens for hours, slow cookers generally use less energy, thanks to their low temperatures (approx 100°C max), lower wattage and sealed designs.
The models on this list have capacities ranging from compact 1.8L options, suited to couples or side dishes, through to large capacity 6.5L models that can handle family casseroles and batch cooking. Below is a snapshot of five of our most popular slow cookers for 2025-26.

Type: Traditional slow cookers still make up a strong part of the list, but multifunctional options are also popular.
The Breville Fast Slow Pro (#2) blends pressure cooking and slow cooking in one unit, while the Tefal Easy Rice & Slow Cooker Plus (#5) combines rice programs with a slow cooker function. This kind of versatility is useful if you want fewer appliances cluttering up the countertop.
Capacity: Most models on this list are around the 6L mark, which can handle up to eight servings, making it practical for families or when entertaining.
The Morphy Richards 6.5L model (#3) offers slightly more room for big batches of casseroles or soups. At the other end, the 1.8L Tefal (#5) has a rice cooker focus with small slow cooker functionality as well.
Colour and design features: As with most cookware, black and stainless steel finishes dominate. Most models include a tempered glass lid so you can check progress without lifting it and losing heat. The control panels are largely digital displays with presets and countdown timers. The higher-end Breville Fast Slow Pro (#2) features manual dials in combination with an LCD display to show temperature settings, pressure levels and remaining cooking time.
Warranty: Warranty periods on this list range from one to two years. Russell Hobbs and Morphy Richards both offer two-year manufacturer warranties on their featured models, while Breville and Tefal provide one year.
Key features and specs: Searing and sauté functions are increasingly common. The Russell Hobbs (#1) allows you to remove the inner pot and place it on your stovetop to brown meat before returning it to the slow cooker to continue cooking. The Breville Searing Slow Cooker (#4), meanwhile, lets you do this in the slow cooker itself, without moving the inner pot to your cooktop.
Keep warm settings are standard across the range, helping prevent overcooking once the main cycle ends. Dishwasher-safe lids or removable pots also make cleanup easier, especially after sticky casseroles or slow cooker recipes with sauces.
Price: On this list, one model falls into the $ bracket, two into $$ and two into $$$. The price brackets are in relation only to the other slow cookers on this list. Higher priced slow cookers are available, but these mid-price and budget-friendly options tend to be best sellers.
Capacity plays a part in pricing, but so do cooking functions. Multi-cookers with pressure cooking, advanced sensors or more presets usually sit at the higher end, while straightforward slow cookers with basic controls and more limited settings are more affordable.
NOTE: The prices shown are according to Recommended Retail Price (RRP), but Appliances Online sells slow cookers at below RRP when possible, so just click the link for each model to see Appliances Online’s price.
