I am unfortunately so disappointed with this toaster. We received one as a gift a few years ago. It broke down and in December of 2022 I purchased another one. After 1 year, the toaster short circuited and could not be used. Breville, as a goodwill gesture replaced it with a new one. After 2 years, this expensive toaster is tripping the power once again. When it worked, it toasted our bread. Great!! But that what it should do. Will not be replacing it a third time.

This toaster does what it says. When you press the toast button, the bread is automatically lowered into the toaster - neat! There are leds that visually count down the toast time so you can see the progress. The wide slots let you toast thick slices etc. It includes special settings for crumpets and fruit loaf. The crumpet setting, I think, just does one side of the crumpet. There's a useful button to let you have a 'quick look' to see how the toast is doing - the toast is raised and then lowered again in once smooth movement. If the toast needs a bit longer there's a 'bit more' button (or you can just put in on again). The four slots are paired so the settings for each group of two are independent. A useful, fun, piece of equipment!

Very well engineered and thoughtfully designed. Packaging is very good and it works very well. Quite expensive and unfortunately not particularly reliable. This is my third toaster, the first failed after 18 months with a faulty switch and was replaced under warranty. That unit survived just over two years and failed with another electrical problem, tripping the main RCD. Contacted sales and was informed that they are unable to repair these units and offered me a 25% discount so one last chance.
