Our old Breville Crystal Clear kettle lasted six years and over 7,000 cycles. I was quite happy with it and reviewed it with 5 stars. When it came time to replace we went with the Smart Kettle Luxe - Blue. The Blue color looks brighter on screen than it does in real life, but it's still a nice color. It's obvious to us after just a few weeks that we won't use most of the extra features, even though we brew different teas and French press coffee. The handle is wonderful and it pours nicely unless you empty the kettle completely, then some water gets trapped by the filter and can go astray. The filter is superior to the filter in the Crystal kettle though. My only other issue is the fill gauge is a little hard to read. Not that the old kettle was loud but the new one is super quiet. It beeps when it's done and that's a good thing. I will use the Keep Warm feature during some meal prep. The rocker switch on the old kettle is what eventually failed. It's a solid-state switch on the new one and it's located on the base so a good chance it will last longer.

Excellent kettle with multiple temperature settings for all purposes.
