A gas cooktop requires a licensed gas fitter or plumber to connect it safely to your home's gas line. Electric cooktops need to be hardwired into your electrical circuit, so you will need to hire a qualified electrician. When gas and high-voltage electricity are involved, safety is paramount, so don’t be tempted to try and connect them yourself.
