Tips and suggestions for happy home living, from furniture and bedding to cleaning and more.
The short version:
- The most popular pick is the LeCavist 168 Bottle Single Zone Wine Cabinet (RRP $1,699), with a 5-18°C temperature range and a triple-layer UV-protected glass door.
- Capacities range from compact 30-bottle cabinets right up to 171-bottle cellars.
- Recommended Retail Prices range from around $400 to over $3,000, but Appliances online often sells at below RRP, so check each for current prices.

A wine fridge - also often called a wine cabinet - protects your collection from heat, light and vibration, which helps preserve flavour and aroma. Regular kitchen fridges and bar fridges run too cold for wine, even for whites and definitely for reds, and that chill can dull a wine’s flavour and subtle nuances over time. A wine fridge holds a steadier, wine-friendly temperature.
If you want reds and whites ready to serve at their ideal temperatures, a dual-zone model is a good fit. If you're cellaring a bigger collection for the long term, a single-zone cabinet can do the job.
There are a lot of wine fridges available these days, and the choice can be overwhelming. To make it easier to choose, we've rounded up 10 of the most popular models with Appliances Online customers in 2026. With freestanding, under-bench and built-in options of various capacities and zones, there's a model on this list to suit a wide range of kitchens, dining rooms and home bars across Australia.

Type: Single-zone cabinets, which are good for consistent, long-term cellaring, make up seven of the ten models on the list. The three dual-zone options suit anyone who wants reds and whites ready to serve from the same fridge.
Capacity: Bottle capacity on this list runs from 30 to 171. Six models hold 40 bottles or fewer: the Hisense 30 bottle, Cantina 34 bottle, both Vintec 35 bottle fridges, the Vintec 40 bottle and the Schmick, which holds 30 wine bottles, but also a good number of beer bottles and cans. The LeCavist 63 bottle sits in the middle, and three models suit larger collections: the LeCavist 168 bottle and both Cantina 171 bottle cabinets.
Keep in mind that these capacities are based on standard Bordeaux-style bottles. Bottles with wider bases, like some pinot noirs and sparkling wines, take up more room, so you usually won’t fit the advertised 'maximum' number in.
Brands: Vintec and Cantina lead with three models each on the list, followed by LeCavist with two. Schmick and Hisense have one each.
Design: Black finishes appear across the whole list, and most models have UV-protected or double-glazed glass doors. Many also use timber beech or wooden shelving, which helps dampen vibration.
Warranty: Most models come with a 2-year manufacturer warranty. Despite being one of the lower-cost models on the list (thanks in part to its smaller szie/lower capacity), the Hisense has a 3-year warranty.
Key features: Every model uses LED lighting, which gives off minimal heat. Most are also designed to keep vibration low, and most have reversible doors for flexible installation. The exceptions are the LeCavist 63 bottle, and the Schmick, which has a two-door design instead.
The Schmick model is unique in its mixed-purpose design: cold enough for beer and soft drink chilling in one compartment, and the right temperature range for wines in the other.
Price: The dollar symbols show where each model sits on this list, but keep in mind that pricing often correlates with size, so you should compare similar capacity models if you want an accurate indication of value. Lower cost ($) is under $1,000, medium cost ($$) is $1,000 to $1,750, and higher cost ($$$) is over $1,750. Half of the models sit in the medium bracket.
The price brackets are in relation only to the other wine fridges on this list. Higher-priced wine fridges are available, but these options are best sellers.
NOTE: The prices shown are RRP, but Appliances Online sells wine fridges below RRP when possible. Click the link for each model to see our price.

I have reached a point in my life where I require a wine fridge - buying bottles faster than I am drinking them brought up a conversation with the missus, for us to buy a huge wine fridge. This 168 BOTTLE BEAST has been in our care for the last 6 weeks and we have been diving into different reds stored in here. We made sure to buy additional shelves to display our favourites and even made room for a glass rack. So much space for so many bottles! This fridge comes with all the latest and greatest gadgets for a price that is affordable for merely the humblest of wine buyers." - JezP, December 2025
