7 of our top best selling Mini LED TVs in Australia 2025

Revitalise your home entertainment with ultra vibrant viewing

Mini LED TVs enable beautifully bright and clear displays

If you're researching new TVs, you've probably noticed that several of them feature Mini LED screens. Mini LED TVs use thousands of tiny LEDs for backlighting instead of the larger ones used in other LED screens, which creates vastly more dimming zones. This means you get better contrast, deeper blacks, and brighter highlights - basically, a more impressive picture quality overall. So how do they compare to OLED TVs, which are often significantly more expensive but renowned for the ultimate contrast enabled by their pure black levels? OLEDs still just about win on contrast, but Mini LEDs counter with brighter highlights and no risk of burn-in.

While Mini LED TVs cost more than regular LED models of otherwise similar specs, the technology has become more accessible as manufacturers scale up production. What was once a specialty feature for early adopters is now becoming mainstream, with Mini LED on track to be the new standard for LED TV displays.

We've pulled together seven of our most popular Mini LED models so you can see which of these TVs are making their way onto thousands of entertainment units and walls across Australia. Whether you're a gamer chasing higher refresh rates, a movie buff who wants cinematic visuals, or interior design aficionado craving a smart TV that doubles as living room artwork, there's something here for you. All these models are available in multiple screen sizes, but, so we can compare prices and specs fairly, we're looking at the 65 inch versions in the comparisons below.

7 trending Mini LED TVs snapshot

Brand: Samsung dominates this lineup with three models, the QN70F (#1), QN85F (#3) and The Frame Pro (#5) - a reflection of the brand’s strong position in the Aussie TV market. TCL follows with two models, the C7K (#2) and C6K (#4), while LG (#6) and Sony (#7) each appear once.

Screen size: All seven models are available in multiple sizes, but the 65-inch screens remain the most popular choice, followed by 55", then 75" and 85". The 65-inch size hits the sweet spot for a lot of Aussie living rooms, allowing for immersive viewing without being overwhelming.

Screen resolution: These are all 4K TVs, featuring approximately 8 million pixels that deliver sharp, detailed images - now the standard resolution for new TVs. While 8K TVs with 32 million pixels are available at the high-end of the market, the difference in image quality may be imperceptible to most people's eyes, especially since scarcely any content is made in 8K (the main function of 8K TVs is to upscale the image quality of other content rather than native 8K viewing).

Energy Star rating: Energy Star ratings across these models range from 3.5/10 to 5.5/10. The LG QNED86A leads the pack with a 5.5/10 rating and the lowest average annual energy cost at $111.94, while the Sony Bravia 7 sits at the other end with 3.5/10 and $183.86 annually. The average annual energy cost is calculated based on the Standard Test of being switched on for 10 hours per day - which is much longer than many households actually use their TVs. Most models cluster around the 4.5/10 rating.

HDR support: HDR capabilities vary across the lineup. All models feature HDR10+ which provides dynamic scene-by-scene optimisation for enhanced picture quality and peak brightness levels that make content pop even in bright rooms. Four models (the two TCLs, LG and Sony) also include Dolby Vision support.

Refresh rate: Refresh rates split into two camps: 100Hz (Samsung models) and 120Hz (TCL, LG, and Sony models). The 120Hz native refresh rate is particularly appealing to gamers, as it enables the TV to handle fast-paced action with less motion blur - essential for games consoles like PlayStation 5.

Design features: Like all modern TVs, the Mini LED models on this list have sleek, minimalist profiles. The Samsung Frame Pro stands out as the design showpiece, with its Art Mode, anti-reflection matte display, and customisable bezels that give it the appearance of a framed artwork.

Warranty: Warranty coverage varies significantly. Samsung, LG, and Sony provide standard 1-year manufacturer warranties, while the TCL TV comes with the extra value and peace of mind of a generous 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Audio: Sound systems vary considerably across the lineup. The TCL C7K features Bang & Olufsen premium audio with 60W total power, while the C6K includes an ONKYO 2.1 Hi-Fi system at 40W. The Samsung QN85F offers 40W with 2.2 channels and Dolby Atmos support. Sound quality across these models is impressive, with most supporting Dolby Atmos or similar spatial audio technologies. The audio is actually good enough that you may decide you don’t need an additional soundbar, though serious home theater enthusiasts may beg to differ.

Operating system: Operating systems split between three platforms: Samsung's Tizen Smart TV, LG's webOS 25 and Google TV in the TCL and Sony models. Each platform offers access to all major streaming services, voice control, Wi-Fi connectivity, and smart home integration, with the choice often coming down to personal preference and your existing smart home ecosystem, if you have one.

Gaming features: For gamers, all models include HDMI 2.1 support and various optimisations for enhanced gaming performance. The TCL, LG and Sony models offer higher 120Hz VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) for smoother gameplay and reduced input lag. Despite slightly lower 100Hz refresh rates, the Samsung models feature gaming-ready optimisations.

Price: For comparison purposes, prices relate to the 65-inch models of each TV on the list. One model falls into the budget-friendly $ bracket (under $1,800), three sit in the mid-range $$ category ($1,800-$2,600) while three occupy the higher $$$ tier (over $2,600). It should be noted that higher cost Mini LED TVs are available, and that these price brackets are in relation only to the models on this list.

NOTE: The prices shown are according to Recommended Retail Price (RRP), but Appliances Online sells Mini LED TVs at below RRP when possible, so just click the link for each model to see Appliances Online's price.
