Overcoming some of the finer details of the Weber Q will improve your cooking experience and keep you grilling all year round.
Always preheat your grill (about 10-15 minutes), this will allow the grills ample time to heat up and be ready for your food! Clean the grill before cooking. Always add any oil to the food, not the grill to help prevent food sticking.
Make sure you clean the grill every time after use, keep the drip pan empty and clean. Check the cook box is clean and no food is stuck on the burners.
You should always keep your grill covered when not in use. For those on the coast or in very humid climates, we suggest covering your grill in inclement weather and wipe down with a wet towel and dry completely at least once a week.
One simple rule, keep a lid on it. Always cook with the lid down as this will allow you to control the temperature more effectively, avoid flare-ups and keep food moist.
First-time use: Before using a cast iron grate, wash it thoroughly with a mild washing up liquid to remove the protective wax coating applied for shipping. Rinse with hot water and dry completely with a soft cloth or paper towel.
NEVER ALLOW TO RINSE DRY, OR WASH IN A DISHWASHER.
Preheat barbecue for 15 minutes; place grates in barbecue. Turn burners to Medium-Off-Medium with the lid closed. Allow barbecue to heat grates for 1 to 1.5 hours. Turn all burners to OFF, and leave cooking grates in barbecue until they are cool.
More than a BBQ, the Weber Q series of grill has transformed the way Aussies cook and enjoy the great outdoors. Gone are the days of just chops and charred sausages on the BBQ, the range of accessories to maximize not only your repertoire of recipes but enhance the experience for you and your family in unmatched on the Weber Q.
Weber is the industry leader in changing the Australian BBQ landscape and is about creating experiences more than just a quick meal. We have highlighted some of our favourite items below that will allow you to become king of the grill and keep you cooking outside all year round.
The undisputed icon of all Webers is undoubtedly the Weber Kettle, which has shaped the American BBQ landscape and kicked off the BBQ revolution in backyards around the world since its inception in the 50’s.
Bringing live-fire cooking to the masses and allowing even the most inexperienced cooks the chance to BBQ like a true grill king, the Weber kettle design hasn’t changed much since it first rolled off the production line (for the mainstream consumer) in 1959.
This is the Weber kettle that everyone knows; it’s the most popular model sold in Australia. Nearly every backyard has had one of these over the years and some of the greatest pitmasters in the country learned the art of live fire cooking on a Weber Kettle.
The ultimate companion for that weekend away or for those with limited space in their backyard, the Weber portable range of charcoal grills has you covered. Featuring all the industry leading benefits of their bigger companions, these grills are second to none in quality and value for money.

The Weber Smokey Mountain is one versatile smoker and an important tool to have in your backyard BBQ arsenal. Often referred to as a bullet smoker (due to its unique bullet shape), the Smokey Mountain uses charcoal and a well-placed water bowl to smoke your food while retaining all the natural moisture of the meat.
A darling of the competition BBQ circuit, the Smokey Mountain will have your friends and family hiring you out for all of their catering events.
The key to absolutely amazing BBQ is pairing your food with good wine and good wood. Weber have released a range of wood chips and wood chunks that compliments the flavours of your BBQ and enhances your overall grilling game.
While there are plenty of other woods available on the market, the woods available in the Firespice series are tried and tested by pitmasters around the world.

Apple | Mild | Slightly sweet but also dense, fruity smokey flavour | Beef, poultry, game birds, pork (particularly ham) |
Cherry | Mild | Slightly sweet, fruity smokey flavour | Poultry, game birds, pork |

The Weber name goes hand in hand with barbecue and outdoor grilling and is easily the most famous barbecue name on the market. Weber BBQs are identified as more of a lifestyle appliance representing summers in the backyard with close friends and family and bonding over that unmistakable BBQ flavour.
Forming in the early 50’s when the American dream was at a turning point, George Stephen created the first Weber Kettle using sheet metal from the fabrication plant where he worked. With a simple design and the passion to transform the American backyard, George took the kettle on the road, and the rest is history.
Since the humble charcoal kettle, Weber was instrumental in pioneering the first gas grill and allowing Australians to enjoy the great outdoors and a sense of community with food for over 40 years.
