Last week we hinted at the results of a new consumer survey and today we begin to reveal the big winners in categories such as vacuum cleaners and kitchen appliances.

The Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands 2012 survey looked at almost 2,500 responses and came to the conclusion that the top whitegoods brand in the country is … Westinghouse!

“Westinghouse won the Trusted Brands Whitegoods category because Australians know they can rely on this much loved and well-known brand to help keep the kitchen in control,” the magazine stated.

“Whether it’s auto reheat microwaves for busy mid-week meal dilemmas, or dishwashers that produce the perfect wash no matter how they are stacked, little things mean a lot.”

Westinghouse beat out Kelvinator and Fisher & Paykel for the top spot, no doubt assisted by their focus on being “Made for Modern Families”.

Boasting features such as speedy 30-minute on dishwashers, fingerprint resistant stainless steel and self-cleaning pyrolytic ovens, the Westinghouse range has become a popular feature of the Australian home.

The whitegoods company has also proven to be a leader in new technology throughout its long history, and today focuses on innovative and energy efficient products.
