Australia’s most trusted brands revealed

What do you base your purchases on? Is it packaging, advertising or a product’s reputation?
According to new survey, trust is one of the greatest reasons guiding the buying decisions of Australian households – and there are some brands that a true stand-outs.
The Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands 2012 survey looked at the top brands in a range of categories – everything from food and insurance to beauty, health and vitamins.
The survey consisted of 2,468 responses and found that some of the reasons why we trust a brand include:
- Australian owned
- Reasonably priced
- Reliability
- Same brand as childhood
“A trusted brand ensures its product is easily recognised, reliable and useful,” the magazine stated.
“We also know that consumers are savvy at decoding brand messages and are quick to detect those that suit their lives and lifestyle over those that don’t.”
So how did household appliances shape up?
