    High End Feel All Round
When I first got my hands on the SRS-X9, I could tell this was a premium product. The box and packaging were just the beginning of what was to come, when I finally got the speaker out of the box, it had a weight to it that made it feel very solid. Which I really like! The glossy finish on top is lovely and looks stunning, and when I hover my hand over it, the buttons light up like magic! Really cool and a nice touch. The gold accents on the Hi-Res tweeters on top further give it that premium feel. And the best part is, as beautiful as it is to look at, it sounds just as great. The sound it produces is so clear and even with it's size, still gives that stereo effect. My friends and I used this on one of our getaways and the speaker easily filled the whole house with clear audio, you could even hear it standing outside in the yard.

Massive sound from a not so massive speaker
First thing's first - Sony insists that the SRS-X9 is a wireless speaker. I don't actually agree with that. Generally when people are after a wireless speaker they want it to be truly wireless and portable to take with them wherever they go - the SRS-X9 is neither truly wireless (it doesn't have a battery and as such must be plugged in at all times) nor portable (it's a whopping 5kgs and 43cm long with a giant elongated brick shape). I wanted to say that so you know exactly what you are getting with this speaker. Because of this it doesn't have to make the usual compromises in sound and power that other "true" wireless speakers do. As such I consider this an all in one 2.1 channel micro hi-fi system. This is not a knock against it. In fact, it is exactly what I was after when I purchased it a few months ago. I bought the X9 to replace a studio monitor setup attached to my PC as I needed more desk space for a larger computer monitor. I'm big into music and recording so I didn't want to compromise on sound and the X9 fit the bill perfectly. It fit so well in fact that it is more accurate, deeper digging and larger sounding than the 2.0 speaker setup it replaced. It's astonishing how perfect this speaker sounds and how clean it stays no matter how much volume you give it. This does not sound like a pair of bookshelf speakers, it really sounds like a pair of floorstanders. The first thing I noticed is how low this speaker goes, and with authority too. Whatever the bass driver/dual passive radiator combo is doing it really, really, really works. FAR better than my ported studio monitors did and a lot tighter sounding too. It also throws off a nice big and open soundstage, even at close proximity it envelops you and provides real stereo separation. This (along with the low frequency response) is what gives it that floorstander sound I mentioned above. But there is one area it does sound like a pair of studio monitors, and that is accuracy. The X9 is a very neutral sounding speaker and everything within it's wide frequency response is clear and balanced. Nothing overpowers or gets buried in the mix. Apparently Sony spent years engineering this speaker and you really can tell - it has a ridiculous 7 drivers and 2 radiators in a speaker roughly the size of a couple of bricks side by side. It's also perfectly built with some of the best build quality I've seen and felt, it's really well braced and premium in both touch and feel. It's also got a lot of power behind it and will play louder than you'd ever think it's size would allow. I'm sure the 8 separate digital amplifiers play a big part in this. I have it connected to my PC through the USB B port as it is the optimal way to get the best sound out of the X9. Even music files that are compressed sound a great deal better through this speaker thanks to some clever software technology by Sony that "upscales" compressed audio files. The difference is very noticeable. You do have a plethora of other connectivity options from online radio/streaming to bluetooth (including NFC) to DLNA to USB A. There is even a good old 3.5mm stereo jack in it. Finally I've got to say that even though it's a fairly straight forward rectangular design this is a really good looking speaker. It looks and feels top of the line and would not look out of place amongst the most expensive equipment in the most expensive households. This is a speaker that will sound as amazing in 50 years as it does today. True audio perfection.

    Amazing speaker
Fully function speaker, you can connect the speaker via DAC,bluetooth, wifi, usb, audio (I am prefer DAC). Wifi update function, support Apple's airplay etc.. The speaker looks really cool and can makes good sound, but the power cable is too short to fit all the situaion and there is no build-in bettery even the speaker has so huge size. But it is worth to buy.
