We have had 100's of Music CD's and this unit makes them sound GREAT!!!!

This unit is beautiful, and should stand the test of time. Green LED display is nice and clear. Airplay works seamlessly and the inclusion of DAB and internet radio is fantastic. All of this aside, the hifi should really produce a better quality of sound. There's no doubt it is powerful and the speakers easily cope with the volume. It's the mids and lack of real bottom end that kill the experience. There are reviews suggesting to replace the standard speakers with Usher units. Undoubtedly this would make for a premium unbeatable micro hifi. However we have come to expect a little better from Sony.

Pros: Reasonable sound quality and good simple design. Also love being able to listen to overseas radio. Cons: The unit is slow to access the network and finding radio channels. Not all radio stations that claim to be digital are accessible / compatible. I was expecting the wifi to offer a lot more capabilities but it only streams itunes music. ex. I hoped I would be able to watch movies through itunes and stream the sound through the stereo but I can't. Also the music cuts out periodically (twice while I've been writing this review for about 3 seconds a time) I use a belkin wireless play router (f7d4302) located about 12m from the stereo in another room and its supposed to have a pretty good range but maybe it's just too far away.
