This unit was worth the wait. Un-boxing the unit was a pleasure, very well packed. When I lifted the main component the weight really does give you a feeling of quality. Upon use, the control knobs, display and buttons are all nice and "tight" which makes me think this unit will outlast me. Connected to home network fairly quick, it's not too difficult if you know your way around computers, but also comes with easy to follow network setup guide for XP and Windows 7 systems. There was an update already available, I tried for a few hours to make it download, but make sure you disconnect ANY other device connected to your home network, in my case, the Bravia. Once turned off the update downloaded and installed within 15 minutes. I tested hard LAN connection and wireless connection, both worked perfectly good. The update included connection to the Music Unlimited site, which is great if you have an account for this service ( it lets you test drive as well ). I have no DAB in my town, so internet radio was definitely the big winner with this system, within minutes of the update I was listening to radio stations from France to Las Vegas. It categorizes music types so you can narrow down what kind of station tickles your ear buds. From Rock to Jazz, from public radio even listening to CHPS, the Californian Highway Patrol radio communications, it really does open a new dimension in radio pleasure! Connection to your music library is almost instant once network connection is made. Works wireless with my iphone, ipad and Vaio laptop. Sound is very good, you can change bass and treble to suit and also make changes to your music player to refine the sound. You cannot be disappointed with volume or clarity. Big thumbs Up from me, I won't look back on this choice!

I bought this unit mainly to make use of the 'music services' (internet radio) function. However Sony no longer support this service so I am now left with a very expensive unit which can't deliver the service which was a major selling point. I don't understand how Sony can get away with this. As a minimum they should be replacing the vtuner service with an equivalent service. If they don't then do not buy this or any other Sony product.

This system ticked nearly all the boxes. I wanted a silver system with internet radio, dab etc. Pity about the black speakers. I still purchased the CMTG2BNIP with the view of changing the speakers at a later date. The unit itself I am very pleased with, compact, looks good and with the knobs on front, you have instant access and control.
