I used only the metal bar and whisk religiously to make soups, smoothies, ice blended, desserts, whipped cream, etc. My metal bar broke and we replaced it recently. While the metal bar was gone, we persistently tried to use the chopper big/small, hoping something would work as we were so desperate, but NONE would work!! The chopper's blade will get stuck when it meets minimal resistance ( small piece of very ripe mango). 9 years on, the choppers still look as good as new...hah!!Attachments are greatIt does what it says. Speed variation with turbo power, Easy to use, Easy to connect attachments, Measuring jar very useful.Extras are Naff. Actual blender excellent.Although the extras (whisk, choppers) failed soon after purchase, the actual blender with steel head is still work very well after 12 years. Jug also still works ;-)Legendary service
