    Air Conditioning Measuring up Good Morning, Thank you for this question, better still I will show you a quick way to calculate what size air conditioner for your room. First measure the whole area that you need to cool/heat, for example, if you have an open area, lounge room, dining room and kitchen you need to measure all these rooms. Let's say the whole area equals 40 square meters, now multiply this area by 0.15 to provide a kilowatt size air conditioner: 40 x 0.15=6kw So to cool this area properly a 6-kilowatt air conditioner is required or slightly larger never under power the air conditioner just to save a little on the original purchase, by under-sizing the air conditioner will make the machine run hard and not cool the whole area and increase your running cost up.
