    The LG CordZero Robot Vacuum R5 with Wet Mop takes smart cleaning technology to new heights. Equipped with a 360 LiDAR Sensor, it maps room layouts for efficient cleaning - avoiding obstacles through precise navigation.

    The side brush reaches tricky spaces and corners, ensuring a thorough clean. Bumper, upper detection and cliff sensors prevent accidents by detecting walls, obstacles and avoiding stairs.

    Operating as both a vacuum and mop simultaneously, it features a 280mL water tank with adjustable output levels via the LG ThinQ app. With four-level suction selection and smart suction that adjusts for carpets, it caters to diverse cleaning needs.
    360 LiDAR sensor

    The 360 LiDAR sensor maps the room layout for smart cleaning. It detects room layout and obstacle locations within your home to help navigate a quick and thorough cleaning path.

    Double duty vacuum and mop

    Water is automatically supplied to the mop pads from the 200ml water tank. Water output level can be adjusted to suit cleaning environment such as floor material and type of dust.

    I wouldn’t recommend this product.
    I’ve used several robot vacuums, but this LG model has been quite disappointing. The dustbin is too small to clean my home in one go, and it frequently gets stuck, especially when no one is around. It only comes with one mop pad and no spare parts, which is unusual. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this product.

    R5 and R3
    I bought a R5 and R3. The whole reason to go LG for robovac was to have our appliances all under one ecosystem;ThinQ (LG fridge and potentially LE wash tower). The R5 does not have a zoning to choose between vac and mop. The R3’s cliff detection (staircase looking down) is a voice prompt that the wheels are not touching the ground/floor.

    If you can afford it, it’s worth it
    I bought this a few weeks ago despite my friends saying robot vacuum cleaners are a waste of money. They argued you still have to vacuum and mop where the robot, I named ours Dellores, continuously misses spots. Dellores was pretty pathetic the first time around as she was still mapping out the area but she quickly figured out the house. We are a household that tends to leave things on the floors so I do have to complete preliminary checks before I send her off but once we found places to put things, there have been less issues. I get a notification when she gets stuck and can locate her from the app. I was personally sceptical about the mop function as the internal water compartment cannot hold cleaning cleaning chemicals (I put some disinfectant on the mop pad before she starts) but apart from the spots that would be difficult to take up even with a normal mop, she cleans quite well. We had an incident the other day where the cat threw up at 4am but I had to be out of the house at 5am to help a friend set up at the markets and I forgot about it… don’t judge me 😅 Dellores goes off at 8am, sending me a notification, and got 5 mins into the cleaning before I realised she was headed straight to the vomit. I turned her off from my phone and got back soon after but it was too late. She did a much better job than I thought she could. Instead of the vomit being smeared throughout the house, she had mopped up the liquid and vacuumed the ‘solids’. I immediately opened her up and cleaned everything out, the filter wasn’t ruined either which was a pleasant surprise, but I had the spare one they give on standby! There are areas in between bench stools that she gets stuck on and can’t clean but I can put a ‘don’t clean’ zone up in the app and she cleans around them. I also don’t clean a path under my roommates beds, just the few things on the floor around, so I blocked that area off as well in the app so she doesn’t get stuck. I do have to vacuum occasionally, I could just get a dustpan and broom to get those small areas she misses and I will have to clean the spots she can’t mop on the floor. I can’t decide if I should bite the bullet and mop the whole house with disinfectant still once a month or if I should just get the spots she can’t clean with antibac wipes. I hope this give you enough context to decide!
