    The Jura is great if struggling with a steam wand
    I was attracted to purchasing two machines, this one and the Breville BMF600. Both are great machines. The Jura won me because I could use less milk than the Breville. Ideally you could achieve a very fluffy froth using a coffee machine's stram wand. However, the amount of fluffy froth is dependent on the milk quality and technique of using the wand. It is an artform to achieve optimum fluffy froth with a steam wand. Anyway, using the Jura, one needs 200mL of milk. Add this quantity to the detachable container. I chose the frothing disc. You are supplied with two of these discs with one spare sitting underneath the machine's base next to the hot milk/latte disc. Once the machine's power is on, press the function button three times fot frothy milk. You can immediately see the milk spinning very rapidly. The container is a completely sealed unit. The frothing disc moves by an electromagnetic field in the base of the appliance. Frothing is complete when the spinning stops. Assuming you have made your extracted coffee in a 340mL cup, pour the frothed milk in the centre of the cup. It is best to see the result of pouring the frothed milk in a double-walled glass cup. The crema from the extracted coffee rises to the top as the frothed milk is poured into the cup. The fluffy froth takes up 50% of the height of the cup from top down. The cappuccino is the kind of coffee I experienced as a child with my mother at the Esperia Coffee Lounge at Strathfield when the frothy milk was steamed. One benefit of using the Jura is that the Jura uses 500W of power compared to 1500W of power when using the coffee machine. Always clean the container, the top half immediately after use using dishwashing soap. For stubborn milk stains use a cloth dabbed in lactic acid (a substance used in de'Longhi coffee machines) or vinegar. Dry the container. Voila, you have a cappuccino like the old-style coffee lounges, using less power than a steam wand without the frustration of the art and technique of the steam wand.

    I couldn't be happier with it
    Not only is it beautiful and well-built, but it also froths almond milk to perfection. A lot of dense foam that doesn't collapse after a few minutes. I particularly like how easy it is to clean the stainless steel jug and the whisk. No worrying about electrical parts getting wet or scratching the delicate coating. Highly recommended!
