I replaced my Vitaquick after over a decade (it needs some replacement pieces and a little love, but still going strong - I gifted it to a friend) and this new pot is worthy of the price. The valve is so much easier to attach and remove which is nice, but the machine’s ability to hold the pressure with more precision is the game changer. I make beef bones stews with chayote (mirilron) which is a member of the squash family. It is mostly made of of water and inevitably disintegrates in stews. Not with my new boy. Each chunk tenuous held its shape almost like a custard. Very impressive.

I have had a pressure cooker for over 15 years that started to leak recently. In order to replace it, I performed lots of research to ensure I would be getting the best option. When I read other reviews, good and bad, I thought I needed to give it a try. I purchased this pressure cooker due to all the security safeguards that it has and I don’t regret it. It is not the most reasonably priced option because it really is in the expensive range but every dollar spent in it is worth it. I highly recommend.

Despite replacing the parts, the pressure cooker continues to leak, especially when the heat is set too high. I find myself having to stand by the stove to monitor the pot until it builds pressure, and even then, the leaking begins—requiring me to adjust the heat. More concerning, the pot sometimes leaks even at low heat. When this happens, I have to depressurize it, reopen the lid, and make several adjustments before it finally seals properly. I must express my disappointment, especially considering the high cost of this product. At this price point, I expected a reliable appliance that would seal easily and function without constant supervision. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. I would not feel comfortable recommending this pressure cooker to others.
