I purchased this model about 2 months ago and it was working great until recently. When I unplugged the cord to move it to another outlet, I noticed part of the plug had melted into my outlet. I was very close to a electrical fire and now have to replace my entire outlet. I contacted Dyson immediately who offered to replace the unit for me. I'm now awaiting my exchange unit, but am a bit unnerved at the possibilty that my vaccum could have burned my house down.

I have had this for a while.. love it, great for small townhouse :)

The suction was never as good as advertised and I did not like the conformation of the design. The ball part of the machine would consistently tip over when in use because of the hose placement close to the housing,
