    Overview

With so many manual coffee machines on the market, it can feel like there’s a lot of pressure to choose the one that best suits your needs. But pressure isn’t always a bad thing, like in the Breville Infuser espresso machine, which features a pressure gauge for optimising the profile of your cup.

The symmetrical control panel contains buttons for both single and double shots. Equipped with a pre-infusion function, the machine will slowly saturate your packed coffee grounds with short jets of water to produce the perfect crema. A 1600-watt element allows you to create a fine microfoam for latte art masterpieces.

The Breville Infuser is the ideal machine if you have progressed beyond entry-level machines but don’t require all the bells and whistles of a high-end model.
    Pressure gauge

While pressure itself is not a variable in producing a fine cup of coffee, an awareness of how much pressure is behind your extraction will allow you to become more consistent in your brewing. By looking at the pressure gauge on your machine, you will know if your grounds are appropriately compressed or if you need to change your grind setting.

    Choose your coffee size

This machine features buttons for producing both single and double shots. A single shot of coffee is 30 ml, so a double shot will give you a 60 ml of espresso for when you need that 3pm pick-me-up. You can select your setting and then walk away, as the machine will automatically stop once the appropriate volume has been extracted.

    Pre-infusion

Forget the idea that water can only dilute. This coffee machine is programmed to release small spurts of water prior to the pouring of each shot. Although subtle, this process of pre-infusion primes your ground coffee for optimum espresso extraction, resulting in a richer cup of coffee that is crowned with a full, flavoursome crema.

    Microfoam texturing

Microfoam is steamed milk that is velvety smooth in texture, ideal for creating latte art. What you want is foam with small, even bubbles (unless you are trying to make a cappuccino). Powerful wattage gives you adequate steam to create rosettes, hearts, and more. Microfoam will also enhance the overall flavour of your cup.

    New to espresso
This is a great value for money espresso machine. With a decent grinder it makes great coffee.

I great machine especially for black coffee drinkers and where a grinder is not required
I already have some espresso machines, including a Breville Bambino. The Infuser was purchased to replace the Bambino as a machine for creating quick espressos, in particular long blacks (Americanos) and Flat Whites when time constraints apply. The bambino had previously filled this role very well. So why the Infuser? It has extra features over the Bambino (Pressure Gauge, hot water dispenser, stays "ON" for longer than the Bambino), does not have a grinder (I have two), but is still simple to use. Its one issue for me - I don't like its milk preparation operation. Hence only 4 Stars. In operation I have found it creates great espresso, simply and just the way I want. I can take control manually, as I did with the Bambino, and use my added accessories to produce very good quality extractions. Adding hot water for Long Blacks is a breeze. However, the milk steaming is another story, at least for me - so far. It seems to be too powerful, not controllable, and requires a very precise series of steps to get it right, which I have managed once or twice. But it is very fiddly compared to the Bambino, and its design whereby it does an automatic purge after use contributes to the process being difficult to master in my view. Out of frustration I have reverted to using my trusty Breville milk frother from my Aero Press days instead - much less "drama" and produces a good, straight forward result. Overall the Infuser is a great machine and would get 5 Stars if not for the less than ideal (in my opinion) milk frothing system. In time I may master this and then all may be well here also.

Good response to my broken coffee maker problem
Recently my Breville Infuser coffee maker stopped working, probably the pump. I rang Breville and after a lengthy and patient diagnosis of the problem they gave me the option of returning the machine for repair. Because the machine was 7 years old they also gave me the option of buying any coffee machine for a 40% discount. I decided to get another of the same model which arrived within a week.

Hi, I wanted to know if this coffee machine can use Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee beans? Emily · 2019-10-10
Good Morning, Thank you for your question, this machine does not grind your beans you will need to purchase a separate grinder, we do have a few online for you to add to your coffee machine. if you are not ready to purchase a separate grinder maybe purchase your coffee ground and look at a Delonghi DECC500 Coffee Canister this will keep your ground or beans fresher longer, this item is also on our website to view.
