After 21 hours since my old washing mashine collapsed I was able to start my washing with a new 7.5kg Front Load Samsung Washing Machine WF8750LSW1. Hi Kidsmagic, Thank you for your question. The alarm clock does require to be plugged into mains power to operate. The battery is only used for a time back-up in case the power supply is interrupted, so you don't have to set the time again when the power comes back on.
