An automatic frost free cycle eliminates the need to manually defrost your fridge. With no annoying frost build-up, your fridge is likely to be more reliable and operate at its optimal temperature. Fridges labelled "frost free" periodically run a de-frosting cycle to melt frost or ice that may have formed on the cooling element of the refrigerator.
On basic models, this cycle runs up-to 4 times per day. Newer, more efficient models will cleverly monitor how often the door is opened and automatically adjust the de-frosting cycle to suit its usage.
