The Omega Opal Mini air purifier uses a 2 stage filtration system. The active carbon filter removes odours, organic vapour and larger dust particles and hair, while the 3M HAF filter removes airborne particles (down to 0.1 micron in size) and airborne allergens such as fine dust, dust mite debris or bacteria. Alternatively, the Omega Opal air purifier uses an active carbon filter in conjunction with a HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter to provide further relief for asthma or allergy sufferers.

HEPA filters are comprised of fibres which attract pollutants. So not only does the HEPA filter act as a 'sieve' for the passing air, it also draws and traps airborne particles, which allows the Omega Opal to filter to an extremely fine level.

Anti-microbial agents inhibit the growth of mildew on the filter, extending the life of the appliance. Filters are easy to remove and replace, and the external surfaces of the unit can be kept clean with a soft damp cloth. 

At the back of Omega Opal mini air purifiers is a fragrance rack. While the appliance is switched off, a few drops of fragrance or essential oil can be added to the sponge in the rear of the appliance.
