The chopping assembly is cheap plastic. I used it twice and it cracked. The third time it fell apart. Decided mine might have been defective and came on this site to by a new one. They are out of stock here and on other sites as well. So I'm assuming it's not just mine. If the whole assembly were metal, maybe it wouldn't break so easily.Legendary service
