I’ve had this a couple of months now and wish I had bought it years ago, as it suits many of my cooking needs. It has more than enough heat for me. I usually use 6 or 7, which gives everything I cook a golden brown, and in the same time I can steam my veges, before I throw them in for a quick blanch. The proof is in the eating, whether vegetables, fish, seafood or meat. I even cook toasted sandwiches on 6, sometimes 7 when I do side 2. I was surprised that the American version has 3/4 the power. So setting 7 on mine would be 14 on it, where 15 is the highest setting. My only complaint is that the knob should be knurled as it's difficult to turn if your fingers are moist or greasy. I've also slow cooked a beef casserole on setting 2 for 2.5 hrs - perfect.

Our previous Breville Wok element failed. This wok worked well and lasted for many years. For that reason, we replaced the failed wok with another Breville Wok. The new wok is slightly smaller and a slightly less powerful heating element. The reduced power heating element is noticeable; searing meat is not as quick. Overall the new wok is good, but not quite up to the performance of the previous model.

I purchased my first Wok February 15, 2011, I received a new identical Wok February 2, 2023! The only reason I required a replacement is the “non-stick” no longer existed. I enjoyed preparing many meals stir fried seafood, unique tuna fry , delicious salmon & numerous chicken dishes. The selection of fresh herbs complimented all dishes and made the wok shine. I am proud to own many Breville products- Fast Slow Pro, toaster, kettle and hand blender mini shredder. The product in general makes cooking a pleasure. I donated my old Wok! It may find a new home after 12 years in our kitchen!
