Whether built-in or freestanding, you can trust a Beefeater barbecue to deliver an outstanding performance every time you use it. Beefeater barbecues are constructed from durable materials including high-grade stainless steel, cast finishings, and high-resistance enamel to withstand the Australian weather and the rigours of cooking.
Freestanding barbecues are great at adapting to your home and your lifestyle, and offer an ultimate barbecuing experience with flexible burner options. For a seamless option, a Beefeater built-in barbecue will stylishly complement all outdoor décors and make entertaining easy. In addition to incredible grilling and searing, features like closed-hood convection roasting, quartz start ignition, and anti-flare technology all enhance your experience and make it easy to cook up delicious meals daily.
If you want a Beefeater BBQ you can take anywhere, the Beefeater Bugg range is built for exactly that. These BBQs are compact and portable, but still feel like “proper” grilling gear - with two independently controlled burners so you can cook hot and fast on one side, and slower on the other.
A big reason people love the Bugg line is how flexible it is. You can grill with the hood up for classic barbecuing, or close the hood for convection-style roasting when you’re cooking chicken, brisket, pork shoulder, or veg. Most models also include a hood thermometer, so you can keep an eye on the temp without lifting the lid and losing heat.
Across the range, you’ll see practical features that make day-to-day grilling easier, like a spring-assist hood that opens smoothly, cast iron grill + hotplate cooking surfaces (great for searing steaks and doing bacon and eggs), and a removable drip tray for easier clean-up. And if you want even more “grab-and-go” convenience, there are options with trolleys, side shelves, and condiment storage, making the Bugg a seriously handy choice for balconies, courtyards, camping trips, and weekend get-togethers.
The Beefeater Signature Series is made for people who barbecue often and want something that feels like a step up - more control, more consistency, and a bit more “wow” in the outdoor kitchen.
A standout feature in this range is the roasting hood with a large viewing window, so you can check on food without constantly opening the lid (which is a sneaky way heat escapes and food dries out). Pair that with an integrated thermometer and you’ve got a setup that makes it easier to nail everything from sausages to low-and-slow roasts.
Signature models also lean into durability and even cooking, using porcelain-enamelled cast iron cooktops that hold heat well and spread it across the cooking area. To help reduce flare-ups and keep cooking more consistent, you’ll also see Beefeater’s anti-flare vaporiser system in the mix - designed to help manage heat and reduce sudden flame-ups when fat drips down.
If you’re building an alfresco area and want a BBQ that looks built-in and premium, the Signature Series is often the range people land on because it blends serious grilling performance with clean, integrated design.
The Beefeater 1200 Series is a popular “sweet spot” range - it’s built tough, cooks evenly, and has the features most households actually want, whether you’re cooking for two or feeding a crowd.
Most 1200 Series models run 15MJ cast iron burners, which give strong heat output while still being easy to dial up or down depending on what you’re cooking. The cooking surface is typically cast iron (rust-resistant and great at holding heat), which helps you get reliable results whether you’re grilling, roasting, or doing a mixed cook-up with meats and veg at the same time.
One of the most loved practical features in this range is the roasting hood viewing window - it sounds simple, but it’s a game changer when you’re trying to keep heat in and avoid lifting the lid every 30 seconds. Many models also include a warming rack so you can rest cooked food or keep buns warm while you finish the main event. Depending on the model, you’ll also see smart “quality of life” details like:
- easy ignition (quick start so you’re cooking sooner)
- oil and grease management that channels fats away for cleaner cooking
- removable drip trays for easier cleaning
- and on trolley models, an integrated side burner for sauces, onions, or stir-fry-style sides.
If you want a BBQ that feels like a proper long-term investment without jumping straight into ultra-premium territory, the 1200 Series is usually where Beefeater makes the most sense.
If your priority is a stronger, more premium built-in style with extra cooking confidence, the Beefeater 1600 Series is all about power, visibility, and durability - especially in the 4 and 5 burner setups.
A key difference you’ll notice in the 1600 range is the feel of the cooktop system. These models focus heavily on cast iron cooking surfaces (built to resist chipping and hold heat well) plus stainless steel vaporisers that help spread heat efficiently across the grill and hotplate, while reducing flare-ups.
Like the other higher-tier Beefeater lines, the 1600 Series leans into “cook with the hood down” versatility too. The full-width glass viewing window and built-in temperature gauge let you keep an eye on the cook without opening the lid - which is exactly what you want when you’re roasting, cooking thicker cuts, or trying to keep temps steady.
Depending on the specific model, burner output can step up too (you’ll commonly see 15MJ per burner, with some models going higher), which is handy if you love a strong sear or you regularly cook for groups.
If you’re choosing between a standard family BBQ and something that feels closer to a built-in alfresco centrepiece, the 1600 Series is designed to sit confidently in that “premium, but practical” category.
The Beefeater Signature ProLine Series is the “pull out all stops” range - built for serious entertainers, outdoor kitchen builds, and people who want restaurant-level control at home.
These models are designed with commercial-grade materials in mind (you’ll often see 304 stainless steel called out), and the cooking setup is geared for high heat, strong retention, and consistent results. Features like cast grills and cast hotplates help with heat-up and staying hot, which is what you want for steakhouse-style searing, while still being versatile enough for roasting and low-and-slow. Where ProLine really separates itself is in the details that make it feel premium and effortless:
- laser-etched dials and clear power indicators (so it stays looking sharp and easy to use)
- intuitive, ergonomic controls
- warming racks to manage multiple dishes
- and on some models, an intensive “burn-off” cleaning cycle where residue turns to ash so you can wipe clean afterwards.
If you’re building an outdoor kitchen and want a Beefeater BBQ that looks sleek, feels high-end, and is designed to handle frequent use, ProLine is the range that’s made to be the hero appliance in the setup.
Taking your outdoor grilling and entertaining to the next level leads to the installation of a Beefeater outdoor kitchen.
Designed with high grade materials and uv protected tops the kitchens are designed to transform an ordinary outdoor space into something truly special.
Completely customisable from the BBQ installed to the extra modules to be added, plus the extra options of fridges, sinks and side burners, the imagination is truly the only boundary in the addition of an outdoor kitchen to your home.
With plenty of designs to suit any aesthetic and sizes to suit any and all spaces, the Beefeater outdoor kitchen range will suit any budget and bring true entertaining to your alfresco area.
When looking at installing a new outdoor kitchen or alfresco area, it’s important to know the rules, regulations and some handy hints to ensure you not only get value for money but comply with the law and have an enjoyable space for you and your family in the future.
Once you have decided that you would like to install an outdoor kitchen it is very important to be “utility aware”. What this means if you are installing a sink or a fridge you will need plumbing and power respectively - so are these accessible to the area or space you would like the installation? There are limitations on extensions of plumbing and power for maximum efficiency so be mindful and if you have to consult professional help, absolutely do it. It is costly and sometimes not worth it to renovate and move everything once installed. And just remember it is much cheaper to run utilities to your outdoor space the closer you build to the house - so while it may suit the aesthetic to have the kitchen in the back corner of your yard, it will end up costing more.
Another very important point to remember and consider, the installation of an outdoor kitchen is, what is above? You will no doubt have a gas BBQ, maybe a pizza oven or smoker, maybe even a wood fireplace and all these are combustibles in one form or another so if you have overhanging trees or bushes, they may seem nice but they can and will catch fire! Consider, if you love the tree so much, moving your kitchen or take the step and prune the branches to avoid any heat transfer leading to a fire.
Do I need council approval?
In some cases absolutely as this will be classed as an extension or addition to the main structure. For some pre-built units this isn’t the case, however, it is always best to err on the side of caution and check local building codes and regulations before doing any sort of install. Especially if this concerns any sort of gas fitting with natural gas etc
Do I need to install a range hood?
In most outdoor kitchen builds it is not required, however, can add a certain aesthetic appeal to your alfresco area.
If the outdoor kitchen area is installed in an area with at least 2 open sides (as a minimum as this is a building regulation) you will find there will be cross-winds and strong enough air movement to not require a rangehood.
Does my outdoor kitchen need to be undercover or pergola?
Absolutely not! This is the benefit of an outdoor kitchen space as it is just that - outdoor. However, please be aware that if exposed to the elements you will have increased deterioration in your products. To avoid and maximize the longevity of your kitchen you should aim to put it in an undercover area and purchase relevant covers to protect the space when not in use - custom fabricated furniture covers are some of the best covers available and can be made to any specification you desire.
Can I use an indoor fridge in my outdoor space?
In theory, you could, however, they are designed for indoor use. Outdoor fridges nearly always come with double glazing and are more heavy duty than their inside counterparts. The heavy duty aspect helps (does not guarantee) protect your fridge from the elements and the double glazing provides extra insulation and prevents temperature leak from exposure to the elements and direct sunlight. There are a wide variety of outdoor fridges available, so we suggest in your alfresco area to purchase the products to ensure you get the most from your outdoor space.
Can I hose around my outdoor kitchen?
Of course! The outdoor kitchen is designed to be exposed to water and the elements and the garden hose is no exception. If you do hose the area and do have an outdoor fridge be careful when hosing around it as you don’t want a strong current of water to go straight into the mechanics of the appliance. If you are concerned wipe down the areas of concern with a towel to dry off once done.
Will my outdoor kitchen fade/discolor/show signs of wear?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the build, the environment, and the materials in even the most expensive outdoor kitchen, your kitchen will show signs of wear and discoloration. You can minimize these effects by purchasing furniture and appliance covers, furniture and building material sealants and ensuring you clean and cover when not in use.
With accessories like heavy duty covers to protect your new grill from the elements to the trolley for the Beefeater Bugg to make transport and portability even easier.
All the cooking utensil staples have been released and are heavy duty to ensure they survive the rigor of outdoor grilling such as tongs, spatulas and complete tool sets.
