St George Appliances has a storied legacy in Australia, known for its commitment to quality and innovation in the kitchen appliance industry.

Begun in a Sydney backyard in 1947, the company quickly gained a reputation for producing reliable and high-quality cooking appliances, predominantly its large capacity wall ovens and freestanding stoves with cooktops. It gained a loyal following among Australia’s home cooks and commercial chefs.

By the 1980s and 1990s, St George Appliances had cemented its position as a leading brand in the Australian appliance market. In the late 1990s, the company was bought out by Kleenmaid, and then in 2004 changed hands again, being sold to Woodland Home Products.

By the 2010s Appliances Online, the new kid on the appliance retail block, was proudly selling a number of St George ovens and stoves, which had undergone extensive redesigns in 2007 in order to compete with increasingly popular European models.

St George branded ovens are no longer produced or sold in Australia.
