Robot vacuums are no longer a luxury - they're fast becoming a staple in Aussie households. These clever gadgets may not be new, but they’re certainly having a moment thanks to their improved performance which puts them head and shoulders above first-generation models.
With smart features like self-emptying docks, obstacle avoidance and app control, as well as integrated mops in some models, they’re a game changer for hands-off home cleaning.
Here, we look at five top picks rated by customers - from budget-friendly to premium - to help you find the best robot vacuum cleaner for your home.
Before we look at the different robot vacuums, here’s an overview of the five models rated by customers in 2025.
Type: Four of the models on this list are mop combos, with the ability to vacuum and mop in one compact unit, making them particularly well-suited to homes with hard floors.
Brand: Samsung dominates the list, with two high-end robot vacuum models. They're joined by Electrolux, Dyson and LG.
Power: Dyson’s Hyperdymium motor has huge suction power of 22,000Pa, which the manufacturer claims to be six times more powerful than any other robot vac on the market. The Samsung models have 6000Pa of suction, the Electrolux 4000Pa and the LG 2700Pa.
Price: One model on this list is priced below $600, making it a contender for best budget robot vacuum, and one fits the mid-price bracket at between $600-$1,200. Three of the vacuums have premium price tags of over $1,200.
We’ve based this price grading on the recommended retail prices (RRP), but at Appliances Online we sell at below RRP when possible (which is often), so you may pick up a bargain for a few hundred dollars less than its list price.
Battery life: Samsung leads with up to 180 minutes when using the lowest suction power, followed by Electrolux and LG at up to 140 minutes. Dyson sacrifices runtime for deep cleaning performance, but can still vacuum for close to an hour.
Navigation: All modern robot vacs use sensors and smart tech to find their way around your home. The Dyson boasts impressive 360° vision and 26 sensors, while the Electrolux model uses LiDAR. The Samsung models use LIDAR as well as additional technology (depth-sensing dToF in one, and object recognition cameras in the premium model). The LG vac has more basic navigation but still gets the job done.
Warranty: All the robot vacs on this list have a 2-year warranty and are designed for residential rather than commercial use.

Strong suction and reliable LiDAR mapping make this model a solid performer across large areas, especially on hard floors. The VisNav has the most powerful suction of any of the robot vacs on this list - and, in fact, anywhere, according to Dyson. It is the only model to list its Air Watts (65), which is a measure of both the vacuum pressure and the airflow. It’s the only model on this list without a mop, but if you’re happy to forego that in exchange for super suction, this could be the vac for you.
With a 360° vision system, 26 sensors, and MyDyson app control, it has precise navigation, no-go zones, and room-by-room cleaning modes. The smaller dustbin and shorter runtime may not suit every space, but it's an unquestionably great pick for allergy sufferers and for deep, thorough cleaning.
