You’ve already spent your hard earned on your new home appliance - so why should you have to pay for delivery on top? Simple answer, you shouldn’t.
The best things in life are free, so they say, and it’s certainly true of Appliances Online’s delivery service, which really is the best in the business (customer research proves it) and free. Not just free during promotions, when you spend over a certain amount or when you live next to the warehouse, but always free, for almost all of the population.
Our delivery team can reach 95% of Australians. Odds are, that includes you, but if you live in a remote area you may not be in our delivery range. To see whether you’re included in that 95%, enter your postcode into the search field at the top of this page.
As for the type of building you live in, our teams can handle pretty much whatever’s thrown at them. You should see some of the hard to access places we’ve delivered to. We do need an actual delivery address though - sorry, no PO boxes.
Large domestic appliances like washing machines, freestanding dishwashers, fridges and TVs are heavy and sometimes fragile, so can be expensive to transport. Free delivery can make a significant difference to the overall cost of your new appliance. Most Australian retailers don’t offer this, or only do so for a small selection of products, postcodes or periods of time, so if you’re comparing prices, always factor in the delivery cost. When you buy with Appliances Online, this is $0 for standard delivery - always.
We’ll get anything you can find on our website delivered for free. That includes everything from large kitchen and laundry appliances like washers, dryers, dishwashers and ovens, to smaller household goods like robot vacuums, kettles and air purifiers. Big items will arrive in one of our trucks, while smaller purchases will often be delivered via Australia Post.
Our free delivery service isn’t only for purchases over a certain price - it’s for anything you buy at Appliances Online. So whether you add a heat pump dryer, hair dryer or air fryer to your shopping cart, you can rest assured that the price isn’t going to leap up with exorbitant delivery costs at checkout.
When you place your order, you can choose a delivery day to suit you, as long as the product is in stock. In metropolitan areas of NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, SA and WA, we offer free, next business day delivery (that’s Monday to Friday) for large appliances, as long as you order by midnight in your State or Territory and the product is in stock. If you place an order at the weekend, you’ll most likely receive it by Tuesday. If you live slightly further afield, but are still in our free delivery zone (that’s 95% of people remember!), your delivery may take slightly longer - but will still be free. Small appliances will often be delivered by Australia Post - still with free delivery. For these orders, Australia Post sends you a tracking number that can be used to follow the progress of the delivery.
Most of our deliveries are made between 9am-5pm, though some of our trucks set out earlier and can make their first deliveries as early as 6:30am. Occasionally, we’ll also deliver in the evenings, up to 7pm.
For deliveries of large appliances like washers, dryers, fridges, freezers, dishwashers and TVs, our drivers will contact you on the morning of delivery, to provide you with a 2-hour delivery window, and again approximately 30 minutes before they arrive. If you’re one of the first deliveries of the day, our drivers will contact you as they’re leaving the warehouse to let you know that they’re on their way.
When we say our delivery service is the best, we’re not just tooting our own horn - we’re telling you what our customers say!
Globally, customer satisfaction for all sorts of products and services is measured with a process called Net Promoter Score, or NPS. Unfortunately, poor service is common in Australia when it comes to delivery. Appliances Online bucks this trend, with a massive 85% of our customers rating us 9 or 10 out of 10, which is far higher than other delivery companies. This is no happy accident - we’ve spent years fine tuning a system to put big smiles on our customers’ faces. How do we do this? By being different.
How different can one delivery service really be from another? Actually, a lot. Our delivery teams are friendly, knowledgeable and go above and beyond to make sure our customers are not just satisfied, but really happy with their experiences. Others don’t do this. So, what’s our secret sauce? We keep delivery of our large appliances in-house. This means that we have a smooth and continual flow of information and communication, as well as great product knowledge - and pride in what we’re delivering.
When it comes to delivery of large appliances, in-house means in control. We conduct regular product training sessions, so our teams can not only deliver your appliance to you, but also, in many cases, connect it and answer any questions you may have about it.
If you have ordered a new washing machine, or a fridge with a plumbed water/ice dispenser, our delivery team will connect it to your existing power and plumbing for free, as long as the necessary connections are already in place. If you are taking delivery of a new dryer, we will connect it to existing power and set up the plumbing drain hose.
When delivery of large appliances is outsourced to a third party, as most appliance retailers do, the delivery person is unlikely to be able to offer any of this assistance.
Going to these lengths does not slow us down though! We make around 2,500 deliveries every day. From French door fridges in Freo, to air cons in Airlie Beach, our fleet is out there, getting the goods delivered!
We always ask our customers to let us know how their delivery experience was, and we then recognise and reward the teams that get consistently great feedback. Don’t take our word for it though, here’s just one example of how much our customers value our free delivery, and the overall customer experience.
“Thank you very much for your wonderful modern online-outlet with old fashioned customer service. This has been the easiest white goods purchase I have ever made. Call received prior to delivery as requested, and arrived nice and early. The driver offered to discard all packaging if I wanted (which he then did happily), and removed my old machine. ...What more could a customer want?”
- Chris, Caroline Springs, VIC
Our delivery, installation and warehousing division is called Winning Services (Appliances Online is part of the Winning Group), so you’ll see a big blue Winning Services truck pull up to deliver your new washer or dryer.
Have you ever waited around all day for a delivery that never arrives? So have we, and we don’t like it. Which is why we have built great communication into the delivery process for our large appliances. You don’t just order your washer or fridge and hope for the best.
On the morning of your delivery date - which is generally the day after you’ve placed your order, as long as it’s in stock - we’ll message or call to let you know a 2-hour delivery window, planning our route so that we’re there on time. We’ll then be in touch again half an hour beforehand, to let you know that we’re on schedule, or to advise if we’re running late for any reason.
If you’ve ever ordered a washing machine and arrived home to find 70 kg of metal sitting on your front step, leaving you to figure out how to get it where it needs to be, you’ll know how important proper service is. We’ll take your new appliance off the truck and carefully carry or wheel it through to the room - or outdoor area for BBQs and garden appliances - you want it in.
Our award winning delivery team will unbox your new appliance and, as long as you have the necessary power and plumbing in place, connect washers, dryers, fridges and microwaves at no extra cost. Plus, if you’re getting rid of the old item that you’re replacing, we’ll happily take it away for recycling when we deliver your new one.
If you need specialist trade work done, like hard-wiring an oven to the mains, getting a dryer wall-mounted or safely stacked, or a built-in dishwasher put in place, we can arrange these additional paid installation services for you when you order your appliance. That way, you don’t need to worry about finding and coordinating your own tradespeople to coincide with the delivery of your appliance.
Besides the fact that you have a glistening new washing machine, freezer or other appliance sitting in your home, you wouldn’t know we’ve been, because we’ll take all the boxing, packing materials and strapping away with us for recycling.
Free removal of your leaky old toploader? Easy. If you have an old appliance to get rid of, we can take that away to be recycled - without the extra fee that some other retailers charge. Why? Well, we want to do right by our customers, but we also have an entrenched green policy throughout the business. If there’s an opportunity to make one of our processes more environmentally friendly, we do our best to take it.
Some surprises, like when Dana from HR brings in a plate of homemade flapjacks, are lovely. Others, like hidden delivery costs, are not.
Knowing that you can always get free delivery makes your purchase seamless. You see a price you like, you pay that price, you get your new appliance delivered to you.
If you’ve ever added an apparent bargain to your online order and struggled to find anything about shipping costs until you’ve filled in pages of details and got to the final stage of checkout, you’ll know how annoying it is to suddenly see the total cost of your purchase spiral. We’ve all been there. Only after wasting time do you get your hopes dashed and realise that what appeared to be the best deal for that item is actually nothing of the sort.
Some stores promote free delivery, but only after you’ve jumped through various hoops does it become clear that it only applies to about a dozen items, and only if you live within 10kms of their warehouse or buy it during a short promotional period. At Appliances Online, free delivery is always available to 95% of Australians - and for most things you buy, you’ll have it in your home by the next day. So, you won’t need to waste time figuring out our shipping policy, because it’s this: ‘Free delivery’.
If you’ve ever spotted a good price for a large appliance, only to be crestfallen by seeing the delivery cost, you might have been tempted to organise in-store pick-up. White goods and large appliances are heavy, and often fragile, so attempting ‘click & collect’ can be a risky business. Unless you have access to a ute or van, you might not even be able to try and get your new purchase from the store to your home. The idea of damaging or breaking your new TV is too sad to even contemplate. This is a job best left to the professionals.
You can save a few kilometres worth of petrol and carbon emissions by getting your new appliance delivered. How? Our smart scheduling software groups deliveries by area, so that each truck that leaves our warehouse follows a travel-efficient route that’s been plotted out for the day. No unnecessary back and forth.
Plus, once we’ve delivered and unboxed your new appliance, we take away all the boxes and packaging, as well as your old appliance, for recycling.
Pretty sure we did. It is.
