I’m expecting this series 9000 to have a very sharp and smooth shave compared to my previous. Unfortunately it is quite the same. I couldn’t get the feel of super clean shave even though it is on my cheeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Philips electric shavers & multi grooming products for years, so I was naturally excited upon getting this new shaver in my mail. Unboxing is pretty straight forward - you'll find the shaver wrapper in all its glory, charging cable, hard case travelling pouch and beard styling razer. The build quality is great, I love how Philips incorporates a non-slip grip instead of just full plastic body and it helps if you always shave after a good hot shower. The display is a lovely addition, especially when you're used to using older shavers which would pretty much just die on you mid shaving when it ran out of juice. When turned off, you can hardly see anything on the display; call it a stealth-mode if you want but I simply love it as it makes the shaver looked elegant. Turning it on with a quick press will turn the shaver on and the display lights up beautifully but you need to press and hold a few seconds to turn it off. One of the feature I really like is that you can "lock" the shaver so it won't turn itself on when you're travelling and left with 0 juice when you need to use it. It takes some time to get used to using this new shaver, especially with its flexible ContourDetect heads. It felt weird using it the first time as I'm still used to using static, non-moving blades and have full control over which direction to shave - but this is a welcomed advancement. However, the blades on my unit doesn't seems to be as sharp as I expected it to be (nor advertised). It took more than a couple of pass to cut off some of my facial hair, to the extend of I got quite frustrated and decided to switch the head with the beard styler - which does the job amazingly with just a single pass. Attaching and detaching between heads are pretty straight forward and relatively easy - a quick pull will detach the head and a simply push it down until you hear a faint click. It wasn't easy attaching the flexible head in the first place though - it tends to flex & wiggle around as I tried to push it down gently.
