    NOT STARTING AND UNABLE TO BE TURNED OFF
    Philips Model MG7770/15 I am requiring to lodge this concerning safety and performance issue as a product rating as Philips Australia appears to have no means of emailing or lodging an online written warranty claim for products, including shavers. Not ideal in terms of accountability to customers it seems. When I first bought this shaver in around July/Aug 2022 it was quiet and smooth and each charge lasted in excess of a month. I generally shave with it every second day excluding the weekends (eg typically shave sun, tue, thur). I have sensitive skin (eczema etc so this is a great shaving option for this). Over time the shaver became louder in noise, however, still lasted a long time with each charge. Despite being rated for use in the shower the only water I ever exposed it to was light rinses under a tap after use. Over time despite being only a light rinse, a small amount of water appeared to enter the device at times and needed to be shaken out and left to dry between shaves. Eventually after around 10 to 11 months of relatively reliable operation the shaver ceased to operate at the start of June 2023. I took it to the shop from which I purchased it as I had a job interview coming up so a clean shave was important. After some initial resistance they eventually swapped it for a replacement unit. The replacement unit started of quiet and again increased in noise level over time. Again over time it appeared to be subject to a small level of water ingress perhaps from light rinsing under the tap after use. Note the product is rated for use in the shower (“shower proof”) https://www.philips.com.au/c-p/MG7770_15/multigroom-series-7000-18-in-1-face-hair-and-body Towards July 2024 after around 10 to 12 months use the shaver started having sporadic issues starting. Just before failing in what can be considered a concerning and unsafe way it appeared to have issues charging. Eventually one night I awoke to a loud noise which I traced to the shaver having had turned itself on by its own accord in the bathroom where I store it. The shaver was unable to be turned off at first, then when turned off it soon turned itself back on. This issue repeated several times. I was eventually forced to place the shaver in a stainless steel pot with a lid on it and leave in a metal cabinet under shelter on the deck outside until the battery ran flat. I was concerned the battery might overheat or fail in another unsafe way which could cause a fire. The shaver has remained in this pot in the outside weather proof cabinet since. Despite having elected an online extended 3 year warranty I have not until now managed to approach Philips for a replacement and to bring this concerning safety issue to their attention. In part this is due to the difficulty in finding an avenue to communicate the matter in writing to Philips Australia neither on their website nor through a Google search. Like many people these days it seems I am time poor when it comes to finding time to collate the necessary information to pursue and see through a warranty claim. I am hoping Philips Australia will respond to this and assist me in working through a warranty replacement for the shaver and assure me the safety concerns with the product have since been addressed. The shaver can clearly be viewed as not fit for purpose under Australian Consume Law when failing to perform reliably and failing in what can be viewed an unsafe manner. A quick Google search appears to show this to be a known issue experienced by other customers of this product. I attached copies of an AI search that also summarised this as a know issue for other users. In addition I have videos of the shaver available to share which show the shaver operating in this unsafe manner of not being able to be turned off. Thank you in advance for your time and help with arranging a warranty replacement for this faulty and seemingly unsafe product Philips Australia. Here is hoping the issue of unsafe operation has been addressed over this time.

    Over all good trimmer but the top rusted out in less then 2 months had another Phillips trimmer that lasted years … not tk happy
