So much better as a product in general - heats up quickly, separate grill and oven, even cooking temperature and lots of space on the cooktop. The exterior body doesn't get hot like my last stove which means I can relax a bit when the grandkids are around. Also quite attractive to look at. However, the biggest disappointment is that the cooktop is impossible to clean. I am fanatical about guarding against spills but it's bound to happen. When it does, I ensure that it is cleaned immediately and yet the top is marked and stained beyond cleaning. Its just lucky that you can't really tell like you can on the element-style cookers (one of the main reasons I decided not to get the element style again)

We bought this because recommended by Choice Magazine. Instant heat on ceramic stove top is excellent. Room for improvement in design though. (1) When I use the grill, the grill handle regularly falls off. Very annoying. (2) The timer is marked at 10 minute intervals so I can't use it accurately when I need to boil ravioli for exactly 4 minutes. Also, the timer won't ring unless you turn it past 30 minutes, then back to the desired time. (3) If you pay to have this installed, make sure the installer removes all tools from the oven before turning it on. My installer didn't, and plastic covering the ceramic scraper tool was extremely difficult to remove from the enamel surface. No other problems encountered.
