Purchased this oven for use in a disability kitchen modification as the product was advertised as "Safer with cool to the touch oven door" and that "the Westinghouse FamilySafe oven doors are found to be cooler and safer for families with young children". Oven was installed under bench for ease of access in wheelchair. We heated the oven for 1st use and noticed temperature in room rising with an increase at the time of 15 degrees. Checked oven and once 200C was reached we noticed very hot air extracting from above door - directly into wheelchair user (or a child's) face. Allowed oven to cool and once again set to 200C, once temp was reached we checked the oven door at 30 min intervals - external glass temperature reached 69.2C and the uneven metal in gap above door (for "ventilation" and where little fingers can fit - that blows in a wheelchair users face if installed under bench) reached 93.6C. We are not disagreeing that these temperatures are within and meet the ridiculous Aus. Standards that state a glass door can reach up to 80C above the room temperature (which in Australia means an oven door can potentially reach 120C or more if the room is 40C - this rule itself is ludicrous and not safe!). However we do not believe a product that is advertised as "cool to touch oven door" should not reach anywhere near 70C!? FACTS re thermal burns: From 44 to 51 C (111 to 124 F), the rate of burn approximately doubles with each degree risen. The burn would develop in less than a second if the exposure temperature is at least 70 C (160 F). We contacted Electrolux / Westinghouse who sent two technicians - both ignored our comments regarding safety - checked thermostat was correct and left. Electrolux / Westinghouse have denied there was a safety issue with this product or any issue with the uneven door, however we have been refunded and replaced the Chinese import with an Italian made oven that meet the criteria of a "cool to touch" door with triple glazed glass and a cooling fan that cools the door once it reaches 60C AND it was 46% less $$!!

I needed an oven with a side opening as its easier to take things in and out and you don't have to lean over the door, but this oven has operated perfectly in all ways that an oven should

I bought this oven because I did have one so by replacing my older one for the new was was a no brainer
