This thing gets water in the bottom and you cannot get it out. We make hollandaise with it so we put it in the dishwasher to make sure it's fully sterilized. I guess that's a big no no. OK. But how else is it supposed to get sterilized? So now, after just 3 uses, the thing is garbage. (Where to recycle?) Vitamix used to stand by its products. I have FIVE of these machines from the first one made on down. I've given at least five away over the years. I won't be doing that again. I want QUALITY. Something that can handle a frickin' dishwasher. And I DON'T want plastic. They can make a glass pitcher by now. They make enough in profit. They can handle it. If they respected their customers they would. So... for these reasons... I am no longer buying ANYTHING Vitamix. Many companies make high speed blenders now. They no longer monopolize that market. Costs will come down and quality will go up. And I will be right here, waiting, to help the competition succeed. :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the 32 oz container to be able to store the machine under the counter and because I usually only need to make smaller batches. What I discovered was that I cannot put more than 24 ounces in the container because when I use the smoothie setting it over flows because the lid doesn’t seal. The mess is even worse when I clean it using water and just a drop of dishwashing soap. The 64 ounce container never leaks even when I overfill it. For the price I expected the same high quality I have with the larger container and am very disappointed with this purchase.

Good size, but several disappointments. The handle is unlike the 64 oz container's, and has a cheap feeling with sharp edges and a hollow handle area which collects crud and is not easily cleaned. The container's base is narrow and unsteady, fitting inside the motor base's guides, instead on the outside of the guides like the 64 oz container. The 64 oz container is purposely rounded overall, with ingenious patterns of circulation, but the 32 oz container is rectangular inside, with a rounded lip and lid similar to a 1972 Sunbeam blender. Almost as if this container was manufactured by some other company.
