Like some others have stated here, the Compact Cafe Grill won't go hot enough to properly & evenly brown toasted sandwiches. Edges of the sandwich are very undercooked. Not sure why, the last Sunbeam grill I had (which failed after 25 years!) cooked perfectly.

You get what you pay for. It's good for making a sandwich and gets heated up reallyu fast. The non-stick coating is great and easy to clean. It's very small (which is the reason why I bought this as I don't have much space in the kitchen bench top) Having said that, I should also mention that I've owned a $100 sandwich press before which was way better. However, this is half of that price and I cannot expect the same quality. (This is why I gave 4 starts to the build quality)

Simple unit, works perfectly, easy to clean and very good price. There are similar products with much higher price tags but I don't think they perform better.
