I bought this kettle 2 days ago, and specifically asked for a quiet kettle when boiling. I was assured this kettle was quiet. I have never had such a loud kettle before. I’m not at all happy!!

The name is a con! This kettle is just as noisy as any other. Other than that, it is fine. Would I recommend it? Only with a caution about the noise level.

Sunbeam used to be the most reliable brand and I have used their products for most of my small appliances over the last 48 years. Unfortunately, this seems to have gradually changed. The Maestro kettle I purchased in January 2021 has many design flaws, as listed in previous reviews. However, the worst is the fact that the lid no longer opens with the button. This started within a few months of purchase but has recently been a permanent feature. Now, if we wish to refill and reuse the kettle, it requires us to risk a burn when trying to prise open a v hot lid with our fingernails. I’m sure Sunbeam is capable of better than this. Poor quality just adds to faster landfill. I no longer buy Sunbeam toasters as they are so poor. It appears that the kettles are now also off the list. What a shame!
