It is not quiet at all. I am very disappointed.SUNBEAM KETTLE KE6451DSSlow shut off. Base too light - lifts with kettle. Water level hard to see.Loud and StiffAfter a couple of weeks it gradually got noisier and noisier and now you have to pause the TV or turn it way up else you cant hear it because the kettle is like an aeroplane in your house. The lid has gotten stiff and does not open when you push the button, you have to hold the button and use a spoon to lift it. The only good thing is that it does do what a kettle should do and boils the water.Legendary service
