After careful consideration and reading the reviews opted to replace it with the VS788 and has proved excellent decision. Very easy to use. Produces a very tight vacuum with a good seal and much faster than the old model. Built in bag storage assists with a mini production line. Buy it.i am happy with my food saver but feel vacumn sealing smaller items with less wastage of bag roll could be improved by re-designing the sealing process....any thing is possible these days nwith technology.Legendary service
