I have been having the same problem with the brittle plastic lugs. One of the ones under the bowl has snapped. I superglued it back on but it has snapped again. Today the plastic lug going into the top of the handle to lock it in has half snapped. So I have half a useable product.

It is so hard to get the bowl and lid on and off and the plastic is so brittle, there is no way you can use this without it breaking, we have used it half a dozen times and are already on our second bowl. We hoped the first bowl was an anomaly but the second is even worse. Don't even think about buying it.

to tell the truth we haven't used it yet but intend to very soon.
