My daughter bought this one as a gift for me after 18 months, starting leaking water from every parts of machine.

I have had the Sunbeam Barista Plus Espresso Machine for just over a month now and I can’t fault it. If like me you are upgrading from a Pod machine, you will find this almost as simple and surprisingly as quick. It may take up a little more space on the counter top but the results are worth it and I can honestly say I have been using the local cafe less and less for my daily hit. The build quality seems good and the styling options have really been considered. I have the black barista Plus espresso model (EMM5400B) and it looks great but it is so simple to use and all the tools and elements you get in the box make it really easy to perfect a homemade, cafe quality coffee. Assembly is quick and and the grinder straight forward to use but might take a few attempts to get the perfect setting depending on the beans you use. The recommended starting point is not far off I have found. The choice of single or double shot for the group head offers a great touch, whether unique or not to home barista machines. The grind timer at first glance seemed pointless but it has helped me to get consistency in making my coffees, so is a good little addition to the other machines I looked at. The milk frother again may take a few attempts, but watch some of the YouTube videos available and you’ll get a good result soon enough. The addition of the milk thermometer helped me to achieve the best results, so is a big thumbs up for that. Tip: I found that using fresh quality coffee beans did make a huge difference. I use Campos Coffee beans, like my local cafe, and the results are great and worth the little extra investment, just keep them as fresh as possible. So if you are looking to save some money or just to upgrade your homemade options you can’t go wrong with this. It’s great value for money, cheaper than some of the others on the market and the results, both in quality and time, are brilliant in my opinion.

I absolutely LOVE the Sunbeam Barista Plus Espresso Machine. I've wanted one like this for ages but assumed the machines would be clunky and a nightmare to clean - but this is perfect. It looks amazing (the matte black is sexy!), doesn't take up much bench space and is super intuitive and easy to use, with perfect instructions for how to get the perfect grind, coffee drop and milk temperature, it even tells you when the water tray needs emptying with a little red pop up. Having proper coffee dates at home is so much fun, might start a new career as a Barista!
