The Sony SRS-X3 is an elegantly designed mini Bluetooth speaker that delivers strong sound for its small size. It has built-in speakerphone capabilities with powerful, portable, stereo sound and bluetooth audio streaming with One-Touch listening. Simply put, nice bass for the size. It certainly feels very solidly built. It can be powered by USB and has a reasonably good approx. 7-hour battery life. The X3 design is straightforward and elegant and the speaker itself has a nice, smooth-to-the-touch finish. In hand, it feels sturdy and has some heft to it. It is condensed into a perfect rectangle, which I feel makes it more attractive. The sound is clean, with good detail in the treble and clear midrange. I have found that it helps to place the speaker next to a wall to get some reflection. I love this little guy as it manages to have some kick to it. It does well in smaller rooms and makes for an excellent little background music generator. What's more, it is small enough to carry in a bag. I would pair the speaker with my phone and take anywhere. Pairing is a simple easy process and all my friends loved the clean sound. Finally, although the X3 is not quite as feature packed as its bigger brothers, I feel that this speaker is actually the better choice due to its smaller size and lower price.

Disclaimer, I won this set of speakers in one of sony's events to reward members of the sony x program. However after 3 months of use I can say I would spend money on them. I had previously found myself using a cheap set of plug-in speakers for my portable speaker needs, but was looking to upgrade myself to a bluetooth set for ease of use.My primary use of the speakers is to use in the kitchen while cooking/cleaning or the bathroom. However, when I moved house, I also temporarily used them as primary computer speakers. When I first started using the speakers, the first thing I noticed was how easy it was to connect. In addition to the bluetooth and NFC (which I didn't use much), the speakers camewith a high quality auxilliary cable and micro usb charging cable. The range of the bluetooth can accomodate for my wandering tendencies around the house, which was good to have. In terms of sound quality, the clarity on the speakers is more than enough for me. While I'm not an audiophile, I do enjoy my music, and the speakers seem to cover a wide range of music well. The part which blew me away though was the volume of the speakers. While I currently use them for personal use around the house, I could definitely see them being used outdoors or for parties. For something so little, they get quite loud! They last a fair while on a single charge, not as long as I would like, but I only tested them with extended periods of use as computer speakers. A feature I quite like is how the speakers reduce volume when running out of charge to last longer, rather than staying looud then suddenly running out of charge. The call functionality is fun, however I primarily use the speakers for music. Minus a star for: Battery Life- Again though, I'm not sure what "standard" is for bluetooth speakers NFC- I don't really use it and see it as more of a gimmick Carrying Pouch- I thought it would've been nice to have had a dedicated travel pouch for the speakers to I could take them around safely. Did not come with the case, however one is avaliable. All in all would highly reccomend!

My mind just struggles to understand how such a big sound can come from such a small unit. Since I have got this little wonder I use it everyday at work. I have it plugged into my computer so it is always charged, and use it to play music from my Xperia Z2 phone. Connecting it up was a simple matter of tapping the one touch symbols on the phone and on the speaker, and that was it. Instantly paired. The quality of the sound is simply amazing, and as I said above has no right to sound so good coming from something so small.. Most of the time I leave it at work but I always take it with me on my days off. I use it while I am working on the car, out by the BBQ and it has also come on holidays with me.It was great to listen to some music in my hotel room. Being battery powered(built in) I can use it for up to seven hours without it needing a recharge. More than I have ever needed so far. Everyone who hears it is always blown away that the sound is coming from the little box. I havent even got close to using maximum volume as it puts out a solid sound even at modest volume settings. Solid bass and clear mids and highs. I like how it sounds without using the sound enhancement setting but that is just my preference. The hands free function was very handy when I was under the car, with my hands covered in grease, when I got a call, as I didn't have to fish out my phone from my pocket. I just hit the phone button on the unit. Not a feature I use very often but very handy when the need arises. It also has an input jack so can be hooked up to older devices that don't have one touch but as it works so well with my phone, I haven't used that.so far. Overall I rate this product very highly and find I am using it far more than I ever thought I would when I got it. It feels very solid and there is nothing sticking out of the unit to get damaged, so I think it will be very durable and cetainly is a robust unit. I also like the soft touch feel of the unit.
