Sony SRS-HG1 The Sony SRS-HG1 is a fantastic speaker with a great sound quality but like most other speakers there is a bit of a delay from the sound. E.g If I pause any sound at a point there would be a second delay before it pauses but with the AUX cable it is fine. The design of the speaker is one that you would expect from all speaker producer. It is a portable and lightweight speaker which means you can take with you anywhere without a fuss. You can carry the speaker in one hand, put it easily in your bag without making it full. It doesn’t have the best grip on it though so it will become easier for you to drop it. The speaker has a quick and easy set-up to start playing. You can just tap your NFC compatible phone with the NFC compatible speaker or connecting via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct. Although, it was not transparent of how to connect the speaker via Bluetooth but I eventually figured it by reading the manual. I thought you would have had to just pair it on Bluetooth but you have to go through a quick process. Sound. The sound of the speaker is of an outstanding quality. It has a High Resolution Audio which makes the whole house be able to hear the speaker. One of the best aspects of the speaker is the feature of Extra Bass. This feature makes the sound from the speaker more dynamics and gives a different feeling to it. The maximum amount of volume this speaker goes to is insane! The speaker is loud enough for you to listen to music in the shower (over the shower fan and the water noise). Suggestions. On the SRS-HG1, you could add some useful function which would help you to not keep on turning your phone on and off. You could maybe add a pause or play button, next song, or previous song. But I’m not sure if this is just my Sony Xperia Z5 but when I pressed the phone button it came up with the “Ok Google” feature. This was an excellent feature but I’m not sure if any other phone beside from android has access to this. So would Siri work? Perhaps, accessories maybe a case for it as stated before so you do not drop it. Overall, I believe that Sony SRS HG1 is a fabulous speaker with very useful features including access to your voice assistant (Google, Siri, Cortana), very loud audio and more. It was one of the best speakers I have tested and has great use. I recommend this speaker to anybody who is looking for a speaker which they can take anywhere or just sit back and listen to music.

Had this little speaker for several months and very happy with it. Mainly used to listen to music from my DLNA server and iPlayer radio. Super easy to use, reliable.

I recently purchased a pair of these speakers to use as a part of a wireless surround sound for my Sony soundbase. They are simple to set up, as individual speakers they pack a punch thanks to the extra bass feature. When used as a pair they perform great as a stereo set up. They are sturdy and robust, a really good choice.
