happy with sound quality but experiencing a slight issue, don't know if it is an odd one I have or with all sets of this model, when I plug it into smartphone the connection is very fragile and noise keep getting distorted unless I bring the plug to a stable position now and then, the same is with when using an audio extension cable on PC/laptop, will have to contact Sony and see what they will have to say, but when there is no distortion the sound quality is absolutely amazing.

The middle and highs are very good. The base could be better but for the price is good enough.They are a little hot over the year but it's ok for the this kind. The cable is very strong, external noise is not very persistent. A volume controller would be nice, but not a must

My previous headphones were Sennheiser (can't remember the model). The quality from them was excellent but at a price - to get the best quality from my iPod I had to either convert or download everything lossless. Needless to say my iPod soon filled up. When my Sennheisers gave up I decided to go Sony and started reading the reviews. The ZX600 seemed ideal, good quality and at half the price of my Sennheisers. The first thing I noticed is that they are much louder. I compared mp3 quality to lossless quality and found very little difference so reconverted all my tracks back to mp3 and reloaded all my CDs to my iPod that I previously had to remove as I had run out of room. The sound quality is not quite as good as my Sennheisers but still more than acceptable. Could do with a bit more bass but the treble is crisp and clear. The sound can sometimes sound a bit harsh if TOO loud but turn it down just a bit and the sound is good. Leakage from these headphones is pretty minimal - they have to be really loud before someone on the bus can hear what you're listening to. One criticism is that they move a bit easy when I'm gardening - they keep falling off. Otherwise, I am perfectly happy with these headphones.
