I'd been on the lookout for some decent headphones for a while, and when I came across these they ticked all the boxes. Upon receiving the headphones, I was really impressed with the packaging and the build quality, they feel high quality, nice and sturdy, and they look really good too. The sound quality is awesome, capable of nice deep bass (if you want it), really nice sharp sound, and the volume levels are really good too - surprisingly powerful. Would definitely recommend them.

Purchased these to replace some high quality cabled headphones to better suit my lifestyle. From opening the delivery bag you can tell the quality straight from the outside of the box. The box has a quality look and feel, opening it reveals the headphones prominently placed on satin-like cloth. In addition the box contains a black sony drawstring bag to store the headphones and a high quality 3.5mm stereo cable. The cable has a 90 degree jack on one end and a straight connection on the other. Looking at the MDR-1RBT MK2's they have a quality feel, with metal and very soft padding both on the head and the over-ear pads. Being someone that has to wear glasses, the choice of the correct headphone is critical. Wearing these for hours, with the soft padding is still comfortable and forms around the glasses to prevent sound leakage. Pairing with my Sony Xperia phone and tablet using the NFC connectivity was a breeze and fully supports the High Resolution Audio. The sound quality is fantastic through the bluetooth connectivity, and the full high resolution 192khz/24bit audio playing using the 3.5mm cable is almost unbelievable. The soundstage is wide and open, and picking out specific instruments is easy with the clarity it provides. Being a closed backed headphone, the sound leakage is minimal and background noise is almost non-existent. Great work, and an easy purchase.

From the moment I opened the box, I saw the amount of care and attention that had been placed in making this set of Sony headphones. The soft, cloth lining enveloping the sleek and modern looking headphones, the thick, detachable 3.5mm cable, the microUSB charging cable and the durable carrying pouch - all of these components made the unboxing experience such a satisfying feeling. That wasn't even the best part - sliding the easy-to-adjust headphones onto my head was a breeze, and they fit absolutely perfectly on my head. I powered through long music listening sessions and audio/video editing runs with no trouble, all the while these headphones were resting comfortably on my head. Listening to all of my favourite tracks through these, I began to pick up on all the tiny details that I had missed in so much of my music - the little pieces of background percussion, the small hints of violin, the softly picked guitar. And all of these elements fit right in with the rest of the mix, falling in their own little space of the great soundstage that these headphones provide. The Bluetooth/NFC functionality is also an amazing part of these headphones that made connectivity with my phone a breeze. Being able to tap my phone and have it instantly pair has come in handy many times when I need to be able to hear someone more clearly in a busy space. Overall, these headphones provide great sound and superb comfort in almost any scenario, while also being able to act wirelessly through Bluetooth for when the situation demands it. These have been my daily drivers for a number of months now, and I don't see that situation changing any time soon.
