Never having owned a decent set of headphones I was a bit dubious spending so much coin on these but it is worth every cent. I have the Xperia S (nearly a dinosaur now) but it has NFC and I use this with these headphones for the lack of wires. I actually was on the ride on mower the other day and found myself using these instead of earmuffs and it worked a treat. Yes I did notice when the engine fired it interrupted the Bluetooth for a split second but I am sure Sony would say they shouldn't be used in this situation. I use them as much as I can and have found the battery life excellent. I want to get my monies worth out of them not have them sitting in a box. Anyway go ahead and treat yourself buy these headphones and you will have no regrets. Keep up the GREAT products Sony.

I was lucky enough to receive this as a Christmas present, and wanted to wait a while before reporting on my thoughts/experience so I could write a more balanced review. Long story short, I'm extremely happy with this product. It does exactly what I want, and what it advertises. The audio quality is very good, treble is crisp and bass well rounded. It is technically an around ear headset, and therefore reduces background noise pretty well. Although the noise canceling model may be more suited when considering in flight use etc, the MDr-1RBT should be enough for every day use. The microphone and speaker quality in a call is also very good. NFC capability allows one touch connection to other NFC enabled devices (saving you time: you don't have to turn BT on both devices, search and connect). One touch, and you're good to go. The range of connection is also great, with music continuing to play from my phone, whilst I walked a good 10-15 meters away. There are only 2 "issues" that I can find with this product, although they are ultimately non-issues. 1. I noticed some skips in the audio/music every now and then; but my old Galaxy S could be at fault there. 2. The price seems somewhat scary! Truth be told, the quality of the speakers and the fact that it's completely wireless (no more uncomfortable tangling/hooking to edges) make up for the price. So in summary: This is a great unit, very easy to use, that delivers quality sound and hands-free capability (just be prepared for people to think you're nuts when listening to music and then suddenly on a call!) Update: The MDR-1RBT was also featured in this years CES, partnering with the new Xperia Z smartphone. Can't wait :D

The bass shakes, the sound is crisp, clear and clean on any volume, and they look so so SOOO nice. If this is your first pair of high end headphones, prepare to hear what you've been missing. The NFC function is incredibly useful for my other NFC products (phone) and will be great for when more products support it.
