I love my new NC headphones. I heard the 1000X were good after doing my research and yes they are expensive but boy do they work, eerily scary when you first try the NC mode. Almost blocks out a child screaming in the next row of a plane to you in NC mode only, you don't hear a thing once you add sound!

Bought these just before Christmas and I was not disappointed, they are excellent. The noise cancelling is superb, i use these on a noisey commute and they shut out the bus engine noise and the passengers brilliantly. Overall sound quality is top notch, they are really comfortable to wear for long periods and the battery life is excellent.

Lots of research led me to choose these over Sennheiser and Bose. I have Sennheiser Momentums (wired) for home listening but wanted noise-cancelling ones for a trip to South America. They make a lovely, balanced sound and work amazingly slickly with my new Sony Walkman NWZ-A15 player. Bluetooth connection was trouble-free and quick and stays stable through 2 or 3 room changes around the home. testing the noise-cancelling in the street and I was aware of tire/road noise from traffic to a certain extent, but that is expected when noise-cancelling is mainly for low frequency noise. Standing next to a bus, I really could not hear the rumble from its loud diesel engine when only about 8 feet away. Brilliant. It should work really well on a plane. They're super-comfortable and have great controls easy to hand on the ear-piece. A great plus is the ability to stop music playing and listen to outside conversation simply by placing your hand over the right ear-piece - clever, clever. Volume contrail and track change can also be done by swiping the ear-piece.
