Before making this purchase I read/watched every review I could find. If you're shelling out this kind of cash then due diligence is a must. There were some negative opinions around about these but the pro reviews were glowingly positive. I'm a technical bloke and so looking at the Tech-Spec like HUGE 70 mm drivers, 4-100,000 Hz range, they were special for sure I thought. I love these cans, really love them. They are very comfortable, with plush, conforming ear cups. The way audio detail is reproduced is outstanding, it translated into goose-bumps and the like. These headphones have re-kindled my enjoyment of music. I do recommend !

I've recently started delving into the world of high resolution music and higher end listening gear. Up until I purchased these I had been primarily using in ear monitors as I did most of my listening during my commute to and from work. I was a little apprehensive at first as I'd never spent so much on headphones before this, but from the first note I knew it was worth the expense. The overall sound signature is what I would describe as musical, spacious and laid back, with extremely nice bass extension and potency, and a nice amount of detail resolution. The trebles sparkle but not too harshly, and everything inbetween is well represented. While these can be driven with normal equipment such as a smartphone or an mp3 player, they really don't show their true colours until they are driven with something a bit more authoritative. Following this purchase I got myself a PHA-3, and the combination of these headphones using the balanced cable bundled with them and the PHA-3 takes them to the next level, giving more definition to the already wonderful bass and bringing out more clarity across the board. They are also incredibly well made, and very comfortable to use. Highly recommended.
