Although I haven't had the opportunity to fully explore all the features available I am very happy with my choice and purchase

The 50 inch Sony KDL-50W800C is a very capable high definition 3D television but is let down by the useless manual that accompanies the set. Although the TV has incredible capabilities almost none of these capabilities is described in the included paperwork nor on the website. For an experienced user of computer assisted or smart televisions this would not be a problem but to the first time user like me it is a very big problem. It has the Google Android operating system with many applications (apps) built in - but there is no description available to show you how to use these apps. Additionally, there is no help available for re-tuning your TV. After using the controller for about an hour I stumbled over the settings in the bottom of one of the menus. This allows you to re-tune your TV. However be prepared to wait because the time to auto tune for digital only was over 10 minutes in my location. The lack of documentation aside the television presents a superb picture quality with good and easy to use features. I am looking forward to using the many apps and the Recorder function when I can locate some usable description of these. This is a great TV that will satisfy anyone with a DVD or Blu-Ray library, uses the internet for catch up programs or uses the off the air television. However, if you need the 4K capability that is available off the internet you need to source a different television.
