Purchased this blu-ray player as my other one had gone to blu-heaven. Most importantly for me was the ability for the player to read MKV'S, as I have quite a few, recordable discs of all variants i.e. CD, DVD and BD abd MP4's. Set up was quite easy and within approx 5 minutes, player had been set up and was ready to go. Very quiet indeed, if not for the LED timer, I wasn't even sure it was actually playing. Upscaled older DVD's in my collection perfectly, colour reproduction was clean, layer break on dvd's is a thing of the past thanks to the onboard buffering (most blu-ray players have that now anyway). Audio output from HDMI and coax was clear with nice seperation and DRC worked perfectly at night time (sorry neighbours!!) Very impressed with this product, have already purchased an additional one for the guest room. Take note however, plastic construction can "creak" initially when taking from box, and sharper edges may cause younger kids (5yo - 8yo) to not be so grabby when putting in their own movies. Plastic can be sturdier i feel, however, overall, very happy!! :-)
