I was in two minds whether buy this or not for a while, as I was afraid it will be just an expensive toy. However, now I am glad we bought it. It does the cleaning in all rooms in our 3-bedroom house, all automatic, all I have to do is to empty the dustbin now and then. It picks up amazing quantity of dust, and does not have any problems with getting under beds, it cleans everything! It navigates around easily, without bumping into furniture: slowing down, and stopping before it hits something (as long as it is big enough) - Very Good! However, when it comes to avoiding thin obstacles, like table/chair legs, it cannot really "see" them, and always bumps into them. First time I tried it, it got stuck under my coffee table (the table has legs made of metal tubes about 2 cm thick that lye on the floor) - it tried to roll over one of these legs, got stuck on it and stopped. I fixed it easily by re-arranging chairs around the table a bit, to prevent the robot from getting there. Also it does not particularly like wires on the floor, and might start messing with them, so I had to re-arrange them in a couple of places too. Another thing that I think might be improved is programming schedule. Why is it I cannot program this thing to start at different time on different days, or several times a day? It is just either one-time off, or every day at the same time. Overall it's really great! It proved itself very useful and not a toy at all! It now does the job that I always tried to postpone, and it is so pleasant to come back to a clean house everyday :)

The VR9000 is the best robot vacuum cleaner Ive seen. Unfortunately it is also stupid. It drives into a corner behind my armchair and then when it doesnt find its way out it stops with an error code. Also it sticks on carpets like the ones showed on the pictures. It refuses to drive into my kitchen because of the 1,5cm doorsill but it gladly climbs up on to the base of my cats scratchpole and then it stops because the level sensor prevents it to drive off the base, You have to reboot it to clear the error conditions and then it forgets the preprogrammed timschedule. This thing could be a wonderful thing after a couple of firmware updates but unfortunately Samsung doesnt provide that option.

I bought a Powerbot over 5 weeks ago as I have a house with 4 dogs and vacuuming once a week is not enough. I wouldnt be without him now. At first I set him to vacuum twice a day as his container was completely full each time. After two weeks I could reduce this to twice a week as the carpet was looking really fantastic and less dust and hair was accumulating. The carpet looks considerably better and the pile has lifted now. I have been amazed at how much dirt, dust and hair has been removed and how much time I have saved.
