Well, what can I say about this piece of rubbish. It looks the part, but that's about it. I set it up and configured it for a cinema experience before starting a DVD which has Dolby surround sound. Not impressed, indeed, an onscreen motorcycle Which looked very powerful actually sounded like a wasp farting in a tin can, the sound was that bad. When I stopped laughing I disconnected it and put it back in it's box.

I was using Samsung 40 inches 3D LED TV (6 Series) since more than a year and was looking for some wireless sound solution which can quench my thirst for BASS while playing movies on my BD player and hard drive. Then I came across Samsung F551 soundbar.Have been using this for last 1 month and really happy to own the Samsung F551 soundbar as its worth my money and for all those who love BASSSSSSSS. Its awesome in performance. Bass is really deep and thundering. You can actually feel the heart throbbing bass. More than enough thunder and room shaking bass to disturb your neighbours :P. Speaker Volume level and Sub woofer bass level can be controlled by remote. Although the bass level ranges from -6 to +6. But I got it best at +3. That was enough to shake my window glasses at volume level 30 (max is 50) while watching movies (Tested on climax part of "Wrath of the Titans" and more). Its has 7 preset sound modes (Music, News, Drama, Cinema, Sports, Game, Off) to choose from and has 3d Sound Plus Music and 3d Sound Plus Movie modes as well for better experience. The sound modes and 3d Sound does not work together (as per specification). Activating one disables other automatically. For best bass performance I would recommend "Smart Volume" off and "DRC" on standard mode. It connects with Bluetooth, TV Soundshare, USB, AUX, Optical cable, HDMI sources. And comes bundled with AUX cable (3.5mm) and USB extension cable. It connected with my TV wirelessly using the "Soundshare" feature. On selecting the "TV Soundshare" source on soundbar, the TV automatically displayed a popup to confirm connectivity. Its remote has all the common buttons required for Samsung TV. Since only the soundbar is visible and the (beautiful) Subwoofer can be hidden anywhere it makes it appear elegant enough to boast upon friends. Bluetooth connectivity is awesome as I could move with my mobile to other room after connecting it to the sound bar (The music paused and resumed after I received a call in between). Its very slim in appearance. Its hidden kind of display is easily readable due to its big font size amd looks cool although it appears small for its messages as they appear scrolling from start to end forcing you to wait to know what option/function have you selected. Pros: Really thundering and deep bass Low level sounds are very clear 3d Sound Plus mode Sleek and slim design Easy connectivity USB extension cable (in case you prefer to wall-mount your soundbar) Auto power off feature Smart volume and DRC feature for managing sudden differences in sound level Illuminating volume control keys for night operation Cons: No bundled optical cable or HDMI cable for wired ocnnectivity No power-on indicator on soundbar (dont know why) makes it impossible to know its on or off if you have a loose connection Sound appears bit flickering with wireless sources at random intervals (noticeable only when minutely observed)

First and formost I have to say that when I took the system out of the wrapping I was initially dissapointed to realise that it is gunmetal in colour. Gunmetal IS silver...but not the bright silver that surrounds my 55ES8000. So you need to plan ahead if you want a match with your existing, I'm assuming Samsung, equipment. I'm getting used to it and I dont think I would would want a bright silver soundbar on display while watching a movie with the lights down... Only two cables are required - the power leads for each component and thats it!!. If your Samsung Smart TV has Soundshare it will connect to the bar via Bluetooth and the bar will 'talk' to the Subwoofer as long as its placed anywhere up to 8 meters. If the speech should be out of synch with the picture..this can be adjusted as well. Loads of sound effect settings are on offer like 'News', 'Cinema', Movie in addition to various '3D' sound settings as well. Bluetooth music straight to the 551 from your smartphone...excellent. Another truly excellent piece of equipment from Samsung where functionality for the customer has been really catered for. Samsung, Please continue this approach.
