It works well but the instructions on how to remove the old filter are very poor! As others say, you have to remove the little coloured retaining clip and then push in the grey bit whilst pulling the tube. Then the tube comes away easy. Fitting is easy. Just remove the retaining clip, push the pipe in and then replace the clip. Check for leaks and the job’s a good’un. In 2020 we shouldn’t have to google problems to get answers which are simple if the instructions were better.

On youtube I was able to determine that the flow goes from the bottom of the unit to the top (with the samsung logo towards the top). However it is ridiculous that after several years on the market, this is STILL being sold without any flow direction marking, either on the label or the unit itself.

I have just installed a new filter. On the instruction leaflet, they say I must follow the direction of an arrow, printed on the label, telling me which end to put on the incoming water source and which end towards the fridge. THERE IS NO ARROW PRINTED ON THE LABEL! I had to follow the direction of the previous one, hoping, logically, that it would be the same. I have taken photos to prove what I say, which I will send to Samsung. Perhaps a printing mistake, but no one checked?
