Could not be more happy with watching tv the quality is amazing... Best I have ever seen..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] More than versed with Samsung 65” tv’s, this iteration was a joy to set up, apart from where it was going; Ultimately this will be adorning an integrated media wall, so this is reviewed on a table for reference. At approx. 17mm wide, this screen is thin! Also flimsy! As most of the magic happens from an external “One Connect” box that connects to the tv at the back middle area via a special (and expensive!) cable, this ultimately is a beautifully colourful and bright screen. Out of the box it’s almost too bright, so have a good play with the extensive picture settings for optimal screen enjoyment after setting it up, which is straight forward enough and can have you up and running in a few minutes. If you’re already familiar with 4K media, then this will do a great job of quadrupling/upscaling the details to fill all 8K 33M pixels on this huge screen, but sadly when watching standard definition or HD 1080p content, it seems to struggle a bit, but that’s not surprising when one considers 1080p content is only 2M pixels comparably! Right now there’s not a lot of 8K content available to fully appreciate what this tv can offer, however there is some demo 8K media online that can give you an insight as to what to expect, but for now it’ll certainly make 4K stuff look great. The Samsung Gaming Hub was great fun to set up and so quick! We used controllers from our XBOX S series and signed in. Boom! What a joy to do some cloud gaming, rather than from a console, however we’ll keep our XBOX connected for now. Dolby Atmos is built-in, with speakers hidden around it (4.2.2 configuration), and does a very good job of delivering amazing sound given the size of the screen! The One Connect box helps keep the processing power real estate away from the tv screen enclosure to allow for that inclusion I suppose. Shame there is no Dolby Vision HDR compatibility however, but that might come later if just a licensing issue and software update; who knows. The solar controller is a great idea! Keep the remote button/face down when not in use, as the solar panel is on the back and will trickle charge the batteries during daylight hours at least (USB-C is at the bottom for manual charging). There is a second remote that has all the usual buttons on it we’re all used to. Future-proofed tv it is, but you might struggle to validate the cost of this unit compared to other (4K) tv’s now, unless you simply must have the latest and greatest kit out there, no matter what the cost!
